We would like to produce a weekly report on who is accessing the system and what they do. We have the following problems:
1) The log file doesn\'t seem to log the user number unless they log in with the keypad. The critical log ins will be by phone or the web.
2) I have been writing to the log file by creating an alarm is there any other way to put info into the log?
3) Is it possible to erase the log file as we have to download it frequently and it takes some time?
4) If you use System info it does not read the vocabulary and there is a warning message about incompatible Vocabs when you try to download to teh system.
When you just log in, it does not log it in the event log, unless you arm or disarm the security system because a normal user may log in many times a day which would fill up the event log
You can erase the event log on the keypad in Engineer Menu 5,0. The menu asks are you sure, and you press 1 to confirm
The event log is designed to record alarm-related events only. In your case you are using a standard product for assisted living. Some customisation may be needed to better suit your purposes. Perhaps an option to record other non-alarm events, which we have been also considering. Let me know what events you would like to see recorded
On the vocabulary there may be a mismatch between the detected vocabulary and the Vocab that you have in your file (English Residential?)
Can you let me know what the system info Vocabulary Number, System Vocab, Customer Vocab and Uuser Vocab reported.
Are the correct words being announced?

Thanks for this.
I will try to switch the security status within the responses that the person is logging on to use. This should record onto the log file with the user no. It doesn\'t cover all the issues but will be enough for the moment if it works.
Can I access the engineer menu remotely or create a resonse which will erase the log file?
As far as writing to the log file goes, I would like to be able to write any text to it combined with Comfort parameters, counter and flag values etc. The reason for his is that we need to do analysis of activity which we can identify using comfort programming but eventually we will need to analyse using databases or spread sheets. Downloding the data via the log file is an ideal way to do it. This is how we are processing the security aspects of the log at the moment.
The system information seems to have the correct data apart from the vocab number which reports as 0. If you connect directly the vocab is shown correctly as 5. The words are correct as the vocab is correct for the download only Comfigurator is reading it as 0 and reporting this.

You can access Engineer Menu remotely and erase the event log.
However F0 on the keypad must be pressed to enable engineer menu as a protection for the user. To workaround, you access remotely sign in with User code, then press 9 for Program, 3,4,1 to enable Engineer Menu (this is the same as pressing F0)
Press # several times until you hear \"Thank you goodbye\" but before she finishes the sentence, press * and sign in with Engineer Code and # key. This allows you to sign in without having to call again. Then Press 5,0 to erase Event Log
An action to erase Event Log may be useful
What do you mean that when you connect directly the vocabulary number is 5?
Is this not using Comfigurator?
The command reporting shoule be v?
If you type v? in I/O Monitor, the reply should be
> v?
< v?05FF1D010103FFFF
5 is the vocabulary and this infomration is used by Comfigurator for system information. Let me know what you get
When I connect directly to he UCM and run System information through Comfigurator it returns Vocab no 5. When I connect remothely using the passthrough on the CWM iit reports 0.
Thats bizzare. It should not matter how you connect to Comfort, I have just tested getting system information on our dollhouse CWM in passthrough port mode. It also gives me Vocabulary number 5
Are you sure the CWM is connected to the same Comfort? We have the situatuon also that we have various Comforts connected to the same network and I do get mixed up sometimes

No there is only one Comfort on the netwoek. However it is an old unit, we reused the first one we ha I\'m not sure what firmware we had in it. The system downloads OK so we will ignore the error message.
Thanks
I haven\'t managed to find a workaround to my problem.
I have a system with a camera which should only be activated in certain circumstances. It is attached to the Aux 12V and triggers if there is a particular pattern of events. I also need to have a method of activating it remotely by phone so I have switched it through the Home Control menu. However as the security has to be very high I need to identify which user has switched it on. I have to provide a report every week listing anyone who activates the camera. I was hoping to do this by downloading the event log.
It would certainly be useful to be able to write other things to the log as a longer term project but I really need to find a way to solve this in the short term. Have you any ideas?
Also the problem I had with the Vocabulary and System information is also the case with a second installation. Screen shot attached
You can connect a Relay (RLY01 or RLY02 can work) to the S12V output in parallel with the Camera so that when the camera turns on, the relay contacts close. Connect the relay contacts to a spare input and program that as Monitor Normally Closed (Zone Type 17). This is immediate in all modes ie 24 hour and triggers the Family Care alarm type which will be recorded in the Event Log as such
You can rename the Family Care Alarm Type (Alarm Type 14) to something more meaningful
Regarding the problem with the vocabulary display - does the voice work on these two ssystems or are you just seeing the system vocab = 0 ? You are using the old IUCM01 with firmware 5.070 is too old to show the vocabulary versions info. This will not allow you to do a Vocabulary upgrade as well A minimum of 5.092 is needed for UCM01.
I suggest that you use the UCM05 for these projects as it is much faster and supports all the new features as well as being able to upgrade the firmware of other modules. If you send it back to us we can offer an upgrade price for a new UCM05
