Quote:Hi I have a Comfort Ultra purchsed a few years ago and only just being put into use.
ULT 5.045
Board PC01-050B and PC01-051B

The UCM is board PC01 017E with UCM 5.92 mounted in a socket with the Tibbo module on PC01 045B.

I note in the manual about older boards that need the header adding and R57 removing. My board already has R56 removed but no header and R51 is in place

Question:-

do i need to place a short on the 485 ?

if no then I have a problem as the Tibbo DS Manager will not see the device, I have all firewalls off and have used two diffrent computers to try to find the device.
D103 if flashing twice every few seconds D103 in on most of the time.  can you advise what is the next step.

Thanks
I\'m confused here.
First, you are saying D103 is flashing twice every few seconds and then again, D103 is on most of the time???
Which one is which?

The double flash does not switch  to a tripple flash when the software is sending out its discovery packets, and both systems that i have tried have firewalls switched off
Second, which LED you are referring to as double flash and triple flash?

I have also tried pinging 10.0.0.51 - 10.0.0.60 and get no resposne, my computers ip was set to 10.0.0.1 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0

Fire wall is set to off
Third, activity LED you are referring here is D101, D102, D103 or D104?

Lastly, if you have another cross-over cable please try with it and see if it of the same result?

Sorry its D102 on most of the time and flashes when ethernet cable is inserted
D103 gives the double flash (never seen the tripple flash)
other led\'s are out.
Tried two x overs and 2 patch leads (when using the switch)

It\'s not about IP addressing, the DS Manager sends out a broadcast packet and the UCM then replies to that. I just tested it with a completely bogus IP and it still picks up my unit.

Try installing the latest, mine is 5.7.10(x64) and I installed only the Core files, not the monitor and all the other stuff. Both on XP and Windows 7 it works fine but I must confess, it never used to work well on Windows 7 until recently. Don\'t ask me what I did because I don\'t know... It could be a patch on the OS side or something. Also check your LAN card binding order just in case.

The latest DS Manager is 5.7.11, available from http://tibbo.com/downloads/soi/tdst.html

Make sure you select the correct version, x86 or x64 if you have a 64 bit processor

Let us know if that fixes the problem

Also you should have SP2 if you are using Vista

Hi Jtankard, did the new DS Manager resolve the problem?

No. I got a new serial UCM and used that, I also tried putting the Tibbo module on then new UCM (selecting 485) and that did not work either.

I am ok as i can now set the system up on rs232, I cannot fifure out why the ethernet does not work unless the Tibbo module is faulty.

Would you like to return the UCM/Ethernet for testing?
Also note that we have UCM/USB as well as UCM/232

If you dont mind,. I would be intrested to see what was up with it, or if its something i am doing wrong, its never been used although its a few years old. I have also updated the firmware on the comfort unit as well and I still have the same result.
