ComfortClient
#1
Hey everyone,

Just to let you know I\'m still busy on the ComfortClient since the last release and it\'s moved on a lot since the last version already.

The list of fixes and enhancements so far is below.    A lot of work has gone into the new Condition Manager;  probably more than  credited in the one line mentioned below for sure!

But just when I thought I\'d start wrapping up the code ready for posting,  Ingo sidetracks me !!   Big Grin.

We are now working on Plugin Technology for the Client.  The first one is for ModBus;  Ingo testing against his kit.  I\'ll post in a seperate threads if you\'re interested in reading/commenting on this too.

Version 1.21.1.5B - (March 2010)

Architecture:

Microsoft .NET 3.5 console application developed under Visual Studio 2008

Tested against Comfort version:

Comfort II Ultra: Firmware – 5.182, File System – 34

UCM05:               Firmware – 5.20

Bug Fixes/Changes

·         Monitor Log Snapshot panel now scales as the window is resized and scrollbars automatic.

·         The dialog box when changing the Click Response Type stated incorrect button labels.

·         Changing the Comfort Object Type did not correctly set the Activity Level to the correct initial state (Auto).

·         Inserting a new Picturebox or Label did not correctly set the Activity Level to the correct initial state (Auto).

·         When changing ClickResponse Types in Floorplan Object Properties, pressing CANCEL on the popup window did not back out changes correctly.

·         Disconnection attempts incorrectly completed on “Max Retries + 1” instead of “Max Retries”.

·         Dropdown list on Custom Tabs now show as “None” instead of blank on first setup.

·         Sounds did not play for Sensor and Counter Floorplan object types.

·         Smartfit Tab buttons now disabled if Smartfit UCM is not installed.

·         Control Menu tree did not correctly rebuild from other program threads.  Removed the manual “Refresh” button from the form now that this is fixed as the feature is now fully automated.

·         Improved start-up splash screen; revised layout with progress bar and start-up phase messaging and now fades-in.

New Features

·         Added Ruler & Grid functionality in Floorplan Editor.

·         Added Snap-to-Grid option for single selected objects in Floorplan Editor.

·         Added new “Options” window the Settings menu to define:

·         Window Tabs Location; Top, Bottom, Left or Right (default) edges of panel.

·         AutoSave Interval and enable/disable status

·         Configuration Menu availability before logon

·         New Condition Manager added to Floorplan Editor and Client respectively. Complex AND/OR conditions can now be created to affect certain Floorplan and System objects.

·         Monitor Exclusions List added. Can now exclude items from the Monitor, Activity, Status and External logs via pattern matching logic.

I put a domain name in \"Comfort (UCM)\" and try to connect to remote UCM and Comfort system thru Internet, but it doesn\'t work. Could you please tell me how can I make it works?

Assuming you have port 10001 open (ie port forwarding setup on your router) then this should work.     Check the box at the end of the line though (next to the 10001) as this overrides the connection details stored in the CCLX file for the destination Address (IP/name and port).

If you hover over that field you should see some help displayed.

Bear in mind though that the Comfort password in the LI command will be sent over the network in an IP packet in clear text.    Whilst the chances of someone snooping that is unlikely, the threat still exists. For ultimate security and \"peace of mind\" you should connect over a VPN tunnel.

Patrick,

Yes you can use any camera that displays to a web page.   Simply create a window Tab of type browser and point the url to that of your webcam.

Somewhere in an earlier thread I posted (see below) about how to do this and showed some webcam for a hotel in Maine USA that i connected too as an example. Here you can also remote control the camera so a pretty good simulation.

Thanks.  After I checked the box at the end of the line, I can connect it using domain name.

Can I put an object of IP camera or webcam on the floorplan?  Because it is more convenience to just double click on the object and pop up a small camera screen windows.  So, we can have many camera objects on one floorplan.  Thank you.

Everyone,

Here is a \'teaser\' to let you know how the ModBus feature is progressing. There is still some work to be done before the next release is ready but for those of you that wondered why we did it.... See below. I think it\'s awesome to have an Energy Monitoring view in the same place as your Security view.

Regards,
Ingo

Does the Modbus plug-in run on a PC together with the Client?
