UCM/Cbus with Text Labelling Command
#1
The UCM/Cbus Firmware 5.214 now supports the Text Labelling Command. This allows Comfort to change the text on CBus DLT switches, allowing any Comfort Event to change the display or language on a DLT switch group address. Comfigurator 3.2.1 or above http://www.comfortforums.com/forum20/1838.html is required to program this action.

The series of posts shows how to do this.

One of the UCMs should be defned as a CBus UCM

Add a Response. For Action, select UCM > Cbus.

A drop down list of CBus commands are seen, as shown below. There is a new  \"Label\" command.

\"Text Label\" allows you to select a language and the text to be displayed in that language in the  Group address of the selected DLT button.

This text will not be displayed untill the preferred language is changed to the selected language. In other words you can program text in different languages in the same button.

The Flavour 0 to 3 allows 3 different labels to be displayed on buttons with the samme group address. eg in one location Group address 1 can show \"Sleep\" in a flavour while in another location a button with the same Group address may show \"Study\" in another Flavour. To confuse things Flavour is also known as Variant in the Cbus Toolkit but numbered 1 to 4

One thing to note - Clipsal don\'t receommend more than around 1,000,000 writes to the DLT chip, as they have limits on how many times this can be done.

So be careful and not be too frivilously changing the labels

good point. These EEPROMs like the one in Comfort (U4) have a limited number of writes. 1,000,000 means for a 10 year life you should not write more than 273 times a day.
Comfort\'s U4 has a life of 10,000,000 writes

Yes the link is http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=1965&forum_id=85&jump_to=7890#p7890

However check your  UCM/CBUS SIM version as it may not be compatible
If the label on the Cbus daughterboard is 1233/4, 1223/7, 1151/1 it is not compatible with the UCM/Cbus 5.216 firmware due to some incompatibility problems with the Cbus side

You need Comfigurator 3.2.2 (beta) download from http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=1964&forum_id=20
