Send command to a UCM, comes out of a different UCM
#1
Bizarre this - I was trying to diagnose a problem sending RS232 commands to my matrix and only some things were working. I thought\'d I\'d try a different UCM.

I unplugged the RS232 cable from the UCM and connected it to another and noticed that the name and ID mentioned in Comfigurator was not correctly referencing the first UCM but in fact the second.

So the cable was connected to ID#5 and only some things worked.

I unplugged the RS232 and connected it to UCM ID#3 and everything worked - leaving nothing connected to the UCM ID#5 and NO CHANGE in programming

???!!!

So to clarify - I \"Execute Response\" when connected to #5 and some things work. Swap the cable to the UCM #3, \"Execute Response\" again - all works. So why is the first UCM sending anything out at all.

I cannot understand what is happening
Send the cclx file to support@cytech.biz and point out what Response you have executed

I am not sure what you mean..
You changed the Rs232 cable from UCM #5 to UCM #3 without changing any programming and execute Response on a Response which addresses UCM #5 works on UCM #3 instead?

See the screenshot of your Modules Tab
UCM 3 called HDMI is in blue which means that it is referenced by Responses and UCM5 called UCM5 is black which means it is unreferenced

That means your responses are sending commands to UCM3 and not 5 so it should be working.

Did you change the ID on the UCMs via the shunt? or did youy leave them unchanged?

Also notice that some of the UCMs have Unknown firmware. Wgen you do a scan for modules it will obtain the firmware of the UCMs and other modules provided the module firmware is of a minium version. This is very useful for documentation and troubleshooting

No changes to the ID\'s - I just pulled the RS232 cable out of ID5 into the correct UCM ID3 and everything worked. When in UCM#5, the two responses worked I referenced.
