UCM ETH Failing to connect
#1
Hi,

Was doing a bit of tidying up inside my panel today, mainly 12v wiring etc, and once I finished, I disconnect the 4 pin cable of my ucm to re organise the cable and reconected it again.

Since the, I cant connect, and keep getting the message no respponse from ucm!

I have changed nothing on my data cabling etc, no changes to umc ID\'s etc and my ucm velbus is working fine.

The symptoms are as follows:-

1) D2 and d3 leds flashing ok. I get ocasional d1 led flash (for about 2 sec), followed by 3 flashes of d103.

I have reset both comfort and ucm/eth, and no change. I can ping the ip of my ucm and get a successfull response.

Issue occurs whith both iphone and comfigurator on local network.

I tried a number of other things to clear the clutter so to speak, i disconnected all other ucm devices, dicsonnedted keypads and scs\'s all at once, and disconnected anything on the 12v power system leaving only the ucm/eth powered up via the 4 pin cable to the main board.

Nohting has worked... Its an odd one, as I definately did not change anything config wise, and the wiring to the ucm is simply a direct cable connection.

I\'ve taken a short clip of the ucm led status, which can be viewed on the link below

Any advice apprecaited.

Check the port settings in comfigurator match.
IIRC default is 1001

Yeah

I\'m using a different port but configuration matches, so should be ok, and was up till an hour ago :-(

What about the D9 (red) and D10 (Green) leds? Both should be blinking if the UCM  is comunicating with Comfort. If D9 does not flash it means the ID is incorrect. If D10 does not flash it means the Rs485 is not connected to Comfort

Check that the SW7 ID shunts are correctly in place. some  may have become loose  and may be causing the wrong ID to be set

I had something similar a while ago and it turned out being that the connection at the UCM end wasnt being made/seated correctly.

Have you tried a different RS485 cable (you mentioned other UCMs so presumably you have to try) just in case the cable is faulty? The cable might just need reseating again though?
