Firmware upgrading old Comfort II and UCM01
#1
Hi

I have an older comfort II I am about to install (never got round to fitting as an upgrade to my comfort 1) - I am confused about my firmware upgrade options even after reading this forum (I must be loosing it ConfusedhockSmile

My comfort PCB/Firmware is pictured here

I also have a newer firmware PCB/chip I must have purchased to upgrade it

I have a UCM01/232 with audio with firmware 5.92

What\'s my most economical route to upgrade to latest firmware?

Thanks for your assitance

You have the older version of Comfort 2 with non-flashable memory. The MPU01 with firmware 5.087 upgrades that to Flashable memory.
That firmware can now be upgraded to the latest version 6.xxx using a Comfort 2 UCM. You have UCM01 which is the Comfort I UCM which is unable to upgrade Comfort 2 firmware
I suggest that you get a new UCM/USB or better still a UCM /Ethernet version 6 which will be able to upgrade your Comfort firmware as well as itself using Comfigurator, see https://www.cytech.biz/pc_interfaces.html

Many thanks for identifying my boards - I will do as you suggest and get another UCM

What is the maximum SCS this system will take (would I end up with Ultra or Ultra II after firmware update?)

I suspect Ultra II is hardware and not firmware but thought I would ask as I don\'t know what I have got

I am sorry I made a mistake, I did not look at the photo closely
ULT 5.084 is not a flashable type. You need MPU with firmware 5.100 or higher to be able to upgrade its firmware

Hence you need another MPU as well as the UCM
Once upgraded the system will support 15 SCS and iit will have the same functions as the latest Comfort 2
