Upgrade CM9000 to CM9001/A
#1
I have a CM9000-ULT in the original EN-03 enclosure with an ETH03 on a UCM

I am considering upgrading to the newer CM9001-ULT/A  (that's if Laser in the UK can confirm they have the /A variant - as they don't show it as such.

Will a new CM9001-ULT/A fit into the EN03 or is any form of adapter plate needed?   I assume I can move the ETH03 from the UCM to be directly connected tot he controller

I also will need to remove the AC transformer and replace with the switched mode PSU.

Laser will only have CM9001A, the CM9001 has been out of production for at least 1 year
You can mount ther new board directly on  the old metal box, the ,ounting positons are the same - no adaptor plate needed.

The ETH03 can be plugged into the CM9001

Thank you for that, so likely they only have CM9001/A now.

Can I assume that I can just load an existing .cclx file from a Comfort II onto the CM9001/A variant?

Thank you for this, really helpful.
Last question I hope.  Does a CM9001/A come with a OP03 board as standard or must that be ordered separately if outputs are needed?
I know my original CM9000 board came with an OP01 already fitted.

Yes it includes an OP03B output board. the SEM01A  does not include OP03B as most  users dont need more than 8, but you canmorder OP03B for SEM01A for Slaves

I now have a CM9001/A from Laser in the UK.

One observation I have relates to the power connector and the tamper connector.  Both of these require the cables to be fitted into the two green plastic plugs which then fit into the sockets on the top edge of the board.

When the board is fitted into an original EN03 enclosure the top of these plugs almost touch the top of the enclosure and squash the cables, so not great spacing.

Secondly the MeanWell Power supply that will replace the AC transformer comes with short red & black cables that require extension to reach the CM9001 at the top of the enclosure.

Thanks for the feedback, we will take note and review. By the way you can also get the EN01 enclosure which is more compact but better fitting. It can fir the main CM9001, 2 UCMs or LEMs, and a battery, and has a hinge for easier opening. the lighter weight means it is cheaper not only for manufacturing but for transport (as freight costs have risen lately). I think 2 EN01 may be the same cost overall as 1 EN03
