Cytech's new UCM/Zwave3 is now available (UCM/Zwave firmware 7.xxx

Z-Wave is a next-generation wireless interoperable ecosystem that lets all your home electronics talk to each other, and to you, via remote control. It uses simple, reliable, low-power radio waves that easily travel through walls, floors and cabinets. Z-Wave control can be added to almost any electronic device in your house, even devices that you wouldn't ordinarily think of as "intelligent," such as appliances, window shades, thermostats and home lighting.
Z-Wave products are available from many manufacturers in the Z-Wave Alliance  like MK Electric.  Merten, ACT, Vitrum and many others http://products.z-wavealliance.org/products/833

The UCM/Zwave3 is a 2 way interface between Comfort and a Z-Wave network. This means that Comfort is able to send commands to control any Z-Wave device and a Z-Wave remote control or switch is able to send commands and status to Comfort. For example, a Zwave button or satellite switch to arm the security system, to trigger a Panic alarm or to activate a Response in Comfort.

Features
  • allows Z-Wave control from Comfort user interfaces including the KT03 touchscreen keypad as well as the Comfort iPhone/iPad or Android Apps or by SMS (UCM/GSM4).
  • allows scheduled control by Time Programs.
  • allows Alarm inputs and Alarm conditions to automatically turn on lights for intelligent integration of alarm and lighting.
  • Z-Wave can be integrated with other 3rd party systems connected to Comfort including like KNX, C-Bus, Lutron, Crestron etc.
  • telecontrol and status monitoring through any telephone inside or outside the premises to control devices on the Z-Wave Network
  • Z-Wave buttons and switches can control the security system eg Arm the system, activate panic alarm, trigger Comfort inputs  and outputs or  Comfort Responses
  • Z-Wave motion and door/window contacts can act as security sensors in the alarm system.
  • Z-Wave lights, dimmers and other devices can update their status to Comfort allowing real time feedback
  • Status of Zwave UCM while learning, or error is shown in status bar
  • Description of Zwave Nodes can be saved in Zwave EEPROM
RED indicates new features in UCM/Zwave3

Comfigurator 3.7.x and above supports the new Zwave Configurator which maps Zwave virtual nodes to Comfort registers including
  • Counters
  • Sensors
  • Outputs (On and Off) triggered by Zwave switch on/off status
  • Responses
  • Virtual Inputs - allows Zwave motion sensors to part of the security system
  • Arm Security System (Away, Night, Day, Vacation)
  • Activate Panic alarm

The UCM/Zwave3 implements the Zwave Bridge Controller function which allows Z-wave Virtual Nodes
Virtual Nodes allow Zwave Controller buttons and Slaves to be associated to Comfort Registers. For example, a Zwave button or satellite switch to arm the security system, to trigger a Panic alarm or to activate a Response in Comfort.

Any change in the status of Zwave switches and dimmers can be updated instantly to Comfort thus allowing real time feedback status monitoring
