Hello,

This may be a harsh question, but some of our customers don't like the look of the Fermax Door Stations. Instead, they would like to use a Busch-Jaeger Welcome8 Door Station (I agree with them, I think it looks very neat
http://en.red-dot.org/pdf/11-2585-2012-2.jpg
The problem is that this Door Station is digital and uses a proprietary bus.

BJ do offer an "IP Gateway" to their ComfortPanel touch screen system, but this may use a proprietary protocol too (if we could access the digital data through IP, we might develop a SIP to analog interface to Comfort, but this looks difficult as the data may be encrypted/proprietary).

The other solution would be to use the Busch-Jaeger housing but replace some component in the BJ Door Station with analog friendly components (Mic/Speaker/Camera).
This will off course result in a higher price (need for BJ door station + extra hardware) but this could work.

We are looking for some guidance and hints in order to cleanly replace the mic/speaker and push button internal parts of the BJ doorstation so that they can be used with comfort (we wont discuss the video part here as it has nothing to do with comfort).

Option A : Use Fermax skyline (conventional 4+n) audio module + push button module, disassemble them and mount the Fermax electronics in the BJ housing
Option B : Buy "cheaper" single components (one mic, one speaker, but we want high quality hardware though) and interface them with Comfort.

For the B option, we don't know when components could be used. Can any speaker be connected directly to the Comfort DM02 (same question for microphone) ? Do we need additional electronics between the speaker and the DM02 ?
Would it maybe be "easy" to directly hook the busch-jeager mic & speaker to the DM02, bypassing the BJ electronics (no need for other electronic ? Speaker/mic direct hook to DM02 ?) ??

I know this may sound overkill, but the look is a matter of taste, and this is important to some of our customers.
Besides this thread could help other people wanting to use digital door stations with comfort by modding them to analog.

Any help, opinion or hint is welcome ! :-)

Thanks !
