I need to integrate all to comfort  : 120 group lights (excld. comfort keypad & SCS)+ 25 IR air conditioner + 20 IR audio-video + 25 zone alarm (+10 zone smoke) + 16 point CCTV w/ DVR.

However, I found that comfort limits only to 128 zone. Is it true?

Please let me know in this case how comfort can control in such amount zone. Is it still possible?

120 lights require 120 inputs and outputs
25 aircons require 25 inputs and outputs
20 IR AV requires 20 outputs but probably no inputs as you may not be able to monitor the status unless you use CSM on all the power cords
This adds up to 165 Inputs and 145 outputs. You can use RIOs for non alarm inputs and outputs. max is 8 RIO each having 8 inputs and 8 outputs, ie 64 inputs and outputs
16 CCTV with DVR is independent system you need not control by Comfort

25 alarm inputs must be on Comfort main board, LEM or Slaves.
There are max 3 Slaves each with LEM giving 64 inputs and outputs, so total including RIOs is 128 inputs and outputs, Hence this is not enough for your system

Furthermore, Comfort II Ultra has 6 groups of control menus each with 10 control keys so thyat allows you to control 60 devices on the menu

In a home automation system it is not necessary to control all the lights aircons and AV in the house. One needs to consider what the automation is meant to achieve. I think it is usually enough to control  those lighting points which are important in the home which needs to be switched on or off in response to events like entry, burglary, time programs etc. 128 inputs and outputs is a very large system

In other words, it means there are only 60 groups or 60 zones to be controlled.

So the starting point to configure how many devices will be integrate in comfort is not just calculating into 128 but 60.

Am I right about this ?

Even combine w/ 3rd-party touch panel, still there are only 60 zones/groups that can be controlled.

60 appliances, or 6 groups of 10 appliances can be controlled on the home control Menu
However it does not mean that Comfort is able to control only 60 appliances, that is  just the number you can control on the Home control menu
In our experience  the main use of Comfort is not to control every appliance in the home using the home control menu.

Responses can be made to switch off all lights in the home when you arm the system, or switch on those lights when there is an alarm.

You can have a control menu to turn off all lights, or all aircons, for example, instead of turn on and off each lights individually which few people will want to do.

(please note that if you turn on or off all lights or aircons at one time you should have delays in between so that the electrical system is not overloaded suddenly)

You can use a touchscreen like KT01 to control more than 60  devices depending on the available screens and memory and limited by th 1023 Responses.
Or you could use the remote control RC01 or Pronto to control any number of devices

To repeat, the limit of 60 menus is only for the HOME CONTROL menu not for other user interfaces

regards

So in my case, from 128 input+output:

  1. 25 input for alarm
  2. The rest is:

    • 103 input+output for lights+AC IR
    • 25 output for A/V IR
Am I right?

Regards.

That's only true if you are controlling the lights with relays directly connected to Comfort inputs/outputs.

If you are using an external lighting control system, like CBus, EIB, or X10, then you will need no dedicated comfort zones (inputs or outputs) at all for lighting.

This reduces your requirement to:

25 input for alarm
20 output for AV IR

...and whatever you need for AC. I'm assuming from your description that you have 25 separate AC units, each individually IR controllable. In which case you would need an additional 25 IR outputs for these if you wanted to retain full, independent control.

Otherwise if you can group the AC units, you can issue the same IR command (e.g. temperature to 25 degrees) to that group by having multiple IR's connected to one output. Obviously this removes individual control.

Cheers,

Keith
