Cytech is pleased to announce that we have developed a 2nd generation KNX interface, which we call UCM/KNX to distinguish from the current UCM/EIB. The UCM/KNX will be similar to the UCM/EIB but will have an Nonvolatile EEPROM in U2 to hold the configuration data.

This will be much more closely integrated with KNX than before.

The UCM/KNX interface allows the alarm system to be fully visible on KNX; the status of alarms and which doors, windows or motion sensors are activated, and whether the security system is set or unset are mapped to assigned group addresses. It allows KNX switches and input devices to send commands to Comfort to bypass zones, or to control outputs or other devices.
A KNX touchscreen can be used to set and unset the security system by entering the user code, just like a physical keypad.

Instead of mapping group addresses to Counters by shunts, there will be a software configuration which is part of Comfigurator 3 to map Group addresses to Comfort. This makes it easy to program Comfort to interface with KNX, without requiring a lot of knowledge of Comfort. Comfigurator 3.18 and above is required to support KNX software configuration.

The UCM/KNX can be assigned any valid Physical address, hence several UCM/KNX can be used in the same system to connect to a single KNX system, or with several independent KNX systems

The screenshot below shows KNX to Comfort Page which maps KNX Group addresses to Comfort
In the KNX to Comfort page, you can

Map KNX 1-bit, 4-bit, 1 byte and 2 byte group addresses to Comfort counters or sensors
Learn Mode will show the KNX group addresses of any KNX telegram received, to be mapped to Comfort. TEST ON and OFF buttons directly send telegrams to learnt group addresses
You can assign 1-bit group addresses for commands to Arm to Away, Night, Day or vacation modes which are updated when the system arms or disarms - two way
You can assign group addresses to Bypass Comfort zones which are updated when the zone is bypassed and unbypassed - two way
You can assign a 1 byte group address to simulate keypad keys so a touchscreen can be used to disarm Comfort using user codes
You can map group addresses to KNX Date and Time objects so Comfort and KNX time and date are synchronised - two way

The screenshot below shows the Comfort to KNX page where Comfort zones, alarms, and other events are mapped to KNX group addresses

Assign group addresses to Zone states and RIO Input states
Assign 1-bit group addresses to Armed, Line Cut, AC Fail, Low battery, Tamper, Doorbell, Entry Alert conditions so that KNX can be automatically updated when Comfort changes its state

Monitor Mode allows received KNX telegrams to be displayed
The new UCM/KNX allows KNX integrators to interface with Comfort without having to program Responses, ie they dont need to know very much about Comfort. It is a very powerful tool for Comfort to KNX Integration

Thanks for the infos. Already downloaded 3.0.8 and new KNX firmware.
I'm waiting for delivery of the UCM from cytechdirect.

UCM/EIB arrived.
It has the U2 socket EEPROM on board, below the "reset" pushbutton, so i think is the new version and i don't need to upgrade any hardware.

As i can read from the ucmknx draft manual, my Ultra II firmware is ok (5.164), but my UCM05 isn't (5.156).
If i don't perform the "scan for ucm", is it mandatory to upgrade my UCM05 to a newest firmware ?

You need UCM 5.178 to support the writing of comfiguration into the UCM/KNX from Comfigurator, as the older UCM does not have this function
If you dont have another UCM05 to upgrade it, we can do it for you for the cost of transport. Otherwise perhaps another user on the forum with a UCM which needs upgrading may be able help you out as both UCM05s can be upgraded if one of you sends the UCM to the other

UCM 5.192 is the minimum UCM05 firmware which is required to work with UCM/KNX
The latest UCM/USB, UCM/Ethernet, UCM/232 firmware can be downloaded from http://www.cytech.biz/ucm_firmware.html

The current Comfigurator software which supports the UCM/KNX can be downloaded from http://www.cytech.biz/comfigurator.html

Thats good. There were some minor bugs with 5.192 including the Read from Group Aggress that you reported. This has been fixed so you should upgrade to the new version

Just FYI...

The link you provide below is point to UCM05 latest firmware.

Comfort Firmware minimum = 5.164 but ULT 5.169 is the latest

So the Comfort firmware ULT5.169 is an official release?
