Hi Chiu,

As mentioned in PM,  my Smartfit UCM seems to have stopped working in the last week.

The last thing I did last weekednd was upgrade the ULT to firmware 5.202.

As hopefully you can see from the attachment (ID=3) the UCM looks to be working OK to me.

However if I scan for the UCM in Comfigurator 3.2.2 then it doesnt find the UCM.   If I manually add the UCM and upload the config then I get Comms errors as soon as the system reboots (even the the card lights as per attachment).

I wanted to move the UCM to my test system (instead of LIVE where it is now) but when I tried that the UCM d4 shws error because it's not connected to the Smartfit system on my testbed.

Any ideas?  Could the UCM have failed or could it be something connected with the ULT firmware upgrade?  Is there a way I can test the card on my test rig (enough to provide it should work in live) even if D4 is lit given that I'll have no smartfit in that environment to test against?  I'm tempted to revert to a previous firmware but easire to test this on my testrig that the pain of doing in my LIVE setup.

Ideas appreciated.

Regards

Julian

Actually reading the Smartfit manual it says D1 on the daughtercard should be blinking;  not on mine at the moment.

That said though I have setup ID=3 in Comfigurator and uploaded yet either,  as everytime I do it causes a bus comms error.

Event log doesnt give me much to go on when that happens.

Julian
Communications error should not have anythng to do with the Daughterboard
It may be because of a wrong ID problem
The ID shunts  on SW7 may be loose so it reads the wrong ID. use spare shunts from  elsewhere and reset the UCM, see if it still occurs

You can safely move the UCM to your test bench Dont worry about the D4 ERR led, what you are checking is the communications error for the UCM on the bus
