I am trying to use a Comfort SFIT UCM to establish a link between my SmartFit Central Heating system and my homebrew home automation system, I dont have a comfort system (yet - maybe I need one) and would like to understand the protocol needed to communicate with the SFIT UCM. I have implemented the Comfort RS485 protocol from first principles using the "comfortprotocol.pdf" document. I am aware that this is probably incomplete with respect to the special case SFIT UCM and this may well be my problem. I have sent send a number of messages to the UCM including LI type (login) and DA (do action) and so far the UCM has not responded at all. All the LED's on the UCM were doing the right thing (apart from the RS485 send indicator). I wonder if there is some other documentation that I could use or if someone else has some experience in this area. Thanks for any suggestions.

The Comfort Protocol document describes the communications between a device or PC and a UCM/USB, Ethernet or RS232
It is different from the Smartfit UCm which communicates with Comfort through the Comfort Bus
The internal Smartfit protocol is governed by an NDA so we cannot help you with that
Anyway we have stopped sellling the Smartfit UCM as there seems to be little demand for this in the UK
