Hi, Just quick questions on something which will probably be simple but I cant figure out.
I have two external sounders both of which I want to connect to my SEM01-M2. As these are different makes I want to connect straight back to the outputs on the board.

Is this OK to do or will I need to use the 'self contained bell' feature they both have? They both have batteries. I would prefer not to do this as both say it will have an effect on the volume of the sounder.  They use 480mA typical with siren and strobe.

Both units only have one output for tamper. How do I use this to close the circuit on the main board? Do I use 2 wires on the permanent negative and put one back to the other connection on the tamper terminal?

Sorry if these are common sense, I almost feel I should create another user on here for my 'less than intelligent questions'!

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

Hi Chris

If you scan and pm me the wiring diagrams of each unit
I will work out the wiring to Comfort for you

If you set them as SAB's then there is no effect on the volume

Niall

I am planning to do the very same with my setup, as I want two active external sirens.

From recollection, if being sourced from the same output, in SAB mode, then you will be pulling close to 1Amp (in your case) in an alarm condition, which might be a strain on the output.

SCB as you say will use the internal battery (of the bellbox) to drive the siren / strobe with reduced volume, but you will not have the loading issue on the output.

One thing you may want to consider is the age of the existing alarm sirens - as if previously configured in SAB mode, and you then change to SCB, you will be putting more strain on a potentially old battery.

As for the tamper wiring, I am sure there was information regarding this being wired in series with each bellbox and back to the enclosure tamper circuit in the documentation section of this forum.

Hi,
Thanks for your responses. I have attached my two bell boxes wiring diagrams. As you can see they both only have one output for the tamper so I assume this is quite common.
Can you please let me know how I complete the tamper circuit? Do I just connect the other one to the common negative?
Thanks in advance,
Chris.
