The first beta version of the Android app for Tablet is ready for testing. This is optimised for Tablets ie horizontal orientation. It has mostly the same functionality of the iPhone app The .apk file is attached as a zip archive. To install, unzip to an apk file, copy to your device and tap the icon. ![]() Last edited on Thursday Aug 9th, 2012 03:05 am by |

As I understand, it works ONLY on tablets and I can not install it to the phone? |

AWESOME! Android is the only tablet OS that supports OpenVPN (the only reliable VPN protocol IMO) without silly jailbreakings etc. So now I don't need a PC to see Comfort status!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited on Sunday Jun 24th, 2012 08:27 pm by ekarak |

You should be able to install in on a phone but the orientation is horizontal and it may be too small If you have one of the phones with a larger screens it may be not too bad We wil be working on a phone version soon |

The current version of the app is not able to work on Android OS 3 and above due to a change in the way they handled the communications. A new version shall be released soon |

Long awaited! It's great to be able to offer this as an option to the iPhone APP. |

Hi I am using HTC Desire with Android 2.2.2 After tring to open the file, system says: "There is a problem parsing the package". I dont mind the horizontal look and the the screen is quite big, so it should not be a problem, but I am not able to install the programm. |

Comfort Android App beta version 1.6 is ready for testing. Please download from the 1st post in this topic. This now works for Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and above and also should work on phones (horizontal only) as well as tablets. |

Hi Slychiu!! Love it!! Looking forward to getting rid of my iphone soon i hope :-) Anyway, have it installed on an acer tablet, and realising it is beta, just wanted to raise a few things i've noticed, or perhaps missed :-) 1) Counter values not displaying. I noticed this as I have my temp from scs's and dim level from velbus dimmers set to display, and the android app simply shows these as green/on 2) Security status leds not displaying. The status of the security system is not displaying, ie, the green led/display for off/arm/ac/msg do not light up on the android screen 3) Camera! On my phone app, I have camera working, but for some reason, it is not working on the android app! The format I enter my camera ip address is to ensure username and pwd also are entered, so it is as follows "http://username:pwd@192.168.100.250:8088/videostream.cgi the above works on my iphone/ipad setup, but the android app says "authorisation required" 4) For empty cameras (ie ones that i have not configured), there is a screan comes up for "calistra", not sure where this came from , but can it be removed ? Thanks for the feedback We should fix these problems in the next version For the camera, in order to work, it has to work on the browser. can you type in the URL on the built in browser and see f you can see the images. The Android browser has problems with many cameras. Other browsers like Firefox, Opera, and Chrome work better. Unlike iOS, you can change the default browser on the andoird phone or tablet. |

I just tried it on my HTC Desire and it doesn't install. Testing it on a friend's Galaxy Note works perfectly. Just some comments: 1. There is no 'Exit' button, we had to kill the app from the Task Manager. 2. Working with ComfortClient I am used to Closed zones being Green and Open zones being Red. With the Andoid App it is the opposite. Red to me means 'Open', 'Warning', 'Panic' etc... Green means all is well. Regards, Ingo Last edited on Thursday Jul 5th, 2012 01:58 pm by Ingo |

What was the message on the HTC desire? |

The same as Tan121 posted on 30 June. Something about parsing the file. |

Hmmm.... I would disagree on that point. There is no use having the app open in the background permanently - it disconnects anyways after a timeout period, you might as well have an exit button to save resources. |

But which app do you know that has an exit button? |
|||||||||

Perhaps not an 'Exit' button as we know it but some apps do release resources when you tap the 'Back' button but most just keep running until your reboot. This request was actually from the Galaxy Note owner where I tested the App on. |

Ok, a slightly better update from the guy that loaded it on his 'Note. He said he pressed the 'Back' button and the application didn't do anything, he had to click the 'Home' button to get back to his Home Screen. Perhaps pressing the 'Back' button action is not yet active or doesn't work properly yet. I will wait for the next release to test on my Desire to give more first-hand feedback. Ingo |

Thanks we will check the back button function However it seems that the app is designed for minimum android 2.3 version, as 2.2 is rather old and has a number of limitations |

Thanks, it seems I have to load a custom ROM to get it going... |

I am afraid that the comfort Android App only supports Android 2.3.3 upwards. We are experimenting with some new stuff and we need to stay at this API level. |

Use of BACK key. We were struggling with this a bit. Especially when logged in - what to do. For now we have settled on.. : BACK FUNCTION Config (editing) -> revert Config (not editing) - nothing Login Page - nothing Dashboard - ask if you want to logout Cameras / Home Control - dashboard Last edited on Friday Jul 6th, 2012 10:04 am by Calistra |

Thanks to everybody's feedback we have been pushing out updates furiously. We have the counters up and running now. We are working on the cameras. Should be next week. |

I can understand the issue when logged in. I would probably just go for the app going to the background, even when logged in, as it should disconnect automatically after a timeout expires. Maybe have a checkbox somewhere asking the user to choose: 1. If checked then pressing the back button it will logout/disconnect. 2. If unchecked then app will run in background and logout/disconnect after timeout expires. |

As a security issue we should always log out when the App goes into the background (I have to check on the Android App - it is certainly true on the iPhone App) because of the risk of somebody simply forgetting that it is running and passing his phone to somebody. |

The app version 1.8 can be downloaded from the 1st post of this topic This fixes the Counter feedback not updated problem and eliminates the Calistra messages in the camera page (we dont know how that got in there) It should improve the arm mode status when logging in Install by tapping on the apk file,. It will install over the old version and keep your data |
