Hello,
I'm wondering if there are some limitations with the group adress that we can use on the UCM/KNX inteface. Can we use any group adress together and link them to virtual inputs or do we have to respect some rules?
Here is the issue I had : I was using two group adress mapped to 2 differents virtual inputs - 0/0/x & 0/0/y. Then, because of a KNX structure reorganisation in the building, I had to changes those group adress to 0/2/16 & 0/2/18. I write the new mapping to the EEPROM and upload the changes in Comfort. But then, the status on the virtual inputs remain unchanged while the KNX sensor where detecting something. I did also a test on the keypad (menu 3,4,2) but the knx sensor are not detected when activated. On the other end I can see the messages from group adress 0/2/16 & 0/2/18 on the monitor tab from the UCM/KNX interface.
So, I decided to go back to the initial configuration (changing knx adress group and comfort setup + knx configuration). Then it works fine. Only the adress groupe and their mapping to the coresspding virtual input has changed.
Any trick to know with the KNX group adressing ?
Thanks.

Any group address can be assigned to Virtual Inputs or other Comfort registers
There should be no problems with the group addresses you mentioned
The only reason that I can think of is that the new configuration was not written to eeprom
can you try this again. Maybe do a READ from eeprom to confirm that the correct mapping was done

I did several read and write but nothing change...
Moreover, the upload with the initial group adresses at the end of the test works fine

Hello,
I redo the same than yesterday and now it works ??? Fine.
But I did the mapping of the the group adresses to Physical inputs (used as Virtual Inputs).
When I try to map the group adresses to others inputs (Zone 17 and above), the status indicator remains "Unkwows". There is no LEM or SLAVE cards. How can I get the status for Zone above 16. It works perfectly from 1 to 16.
Thanks.

we have identified the cause of this behaviour
When you check the show status button, only the zones which are on Comfort and Slaves are reported. So if you have no slaves and zone 17 is a virtual input then that zone is not reported in Show Status This is because the Z? command which reports the status only reports according to the number of slaves.
However if the virtual input changes state, then the change is shown in the status box
We will have to consider if we should make a change to the Z? command or otherwise
