The Logitech Harmony remote controls can be used with Comfort
"Logitech's Harmony 890/895 remote control uses both radio frequency (RF) and infrared (IR) wireless signals to deliver powerful complete control of your home-entertainment system that may be hidden behind cabinets. With a wireless range of up to 100 feet, the Harmony 890 remote sends RF commands to a wireless receiver, which then blasts infrared signals to the components. The Harmony 890/895 remote makes universal control for home entertainment and advanced lighting systems simple."
Comfort's Infrared Codes (0 to 127) can be assigned to any button on the remote control to activate a Response in Comfort, which in turn can be programmed for any Scene or individual appliance or light control. The remote control can even simulate Comfort's Keypad and thus can act as a remote keypad to arm and disarm the security system or sign in to the Voice Menu.
An Application Note for setting up Harmony with Comfort is available on the Cytech website

Just to add there is of course a wide range of Harmony remotes that can be used for IR. The entry levels 525 / 555 provide very good price / performance / looks .  Note also it is possible to set up a Pro account on the Harmony web site and hold multiple configurations for different customer remotes. Not sure there is a mechanism to share / forward configs though?

A Harmony remote control is a good way to learn IR Codes into Comfort. You can download the IR codes from the Harmony website and learn them using the IR Learner software using the UCM

Pronto owners now have a conversion tool from the hex code format to Comfort http://www.comfortforums.com/forum50/745.html
