Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations for a suitable SIM only contract for Comfort? E.g. something that is low cost and basically just provides a bucket load of txts...?
If not a SIM only contract, anyone found any good PAYG SIM that can be serviced via a website? So it works well with Comfort...
Kind Regards
Simon

That sounds like a great deal http://giffgaff.com/

Have you tested  the SIM card with Comfort?

Yes, installed and working. Sending SMS messages absolutely fine, receiving - not 100% sure yet, newly setup system and think it may be a 'keyboard-chair' interface issue... :-)

Since I have now had to change provider (Ikea, never had to send text to keep sim card activated)and got a Giffgaff sim, does anyone have a script so that it can send text every couple of months to keep sim card activated
Also has their been a solution for making the GSM the priority dial out mode yet?
:?

I suggest to use a Time Program to Do Response to activate the CMS Dial Test alarm on one day every week

AlarmUser CMSTest
Set up the CMS dial test Alarm to dial to the SMS numbers
Sending 1 sms a week will not cost much. If you want to reduce that to once a month, then you can add some more conditions in the Response to check for day of month

Just in case anyone new looks at this thread... idMobile (owned by Carphone Warehouse) in the UK now offers a 5 GBP per month 30-day contract so it shouldn't time out or need annoying top-up messages and can be managed through their website. 1.5gb data (not that it matters for Comfort?) 250 minutes plus 5000 texts per month. Should be enough for many people.

It's a 3G or 4G only SIM so you need the UCM/GSM4(3G) as I found out after getting the wrong UCM :-) Off

Seems to work okay on my initial tests. Still incrementally adding to my system at the moment.

Good info thanks.
3G/4G only plans seem to be cheaper than 2G/3G/4G plans so it may be worthwhile switching to the UCM/GSM4(3G) for those who send a lot of SMS messages (even though the 3G module is more expensive)
