Last night, after the lightning struck, my keypad light started blinking till now. When I picked up my house phone, there isn't any dialing tone, but a voice saying "phone trouble, please sign in". I also realized that my phone would not ring when there is a incoming call. When I disconnected (by pass) the phone line to Comfort panel, the phone appeared to be functioning perfectly. Where is the problem part? Appreciate if anyone can help.

As a temporary measure, you can disable the 'line-cut' feature until your phone line is restored.

You can do this within Comfigurator

Thanks for your suggestion. But the by pass test I made concluded that my phone line is ok. So, for long term solution, what shall I do to rectify the problem?

Your phone line is 'electrically' ok but Comfort will also look for the presence of a dial tone (from recollection) and this is your issue.

When comissioning my unit, I didn't have a phone connected and it was reporting phone trouble - disabling this resolved the issue

I am so sorry that I do not understand your suggestion. Appreciate if you can tell me what is the part/item that damaged which I need to replace Or what are the actions that I need to do.

If your phone works when Comfort is bypassed, I suspect the Comfort TEL IN portion is damaged by the lightning and needs to be repaired or replaced. A Telephone Protector Board TPB is reccommended if your area is susceptible to lightning

Hi Ident,

Thanks for your advice. Can you tell me exactly which part I need to repair? Can you attached a photo of it? How to repair?

You need to send the Comfort PC Board back for repair. The board needs to be tested before it can be determined which parts are faulty
Please contact your installer or distributor

I purchased my Comfort system directly from Cytech Singapore and installed it by myself. Can the test be done by myself with your guidance? What are the tools and testing equipment I need?

Sorry I am afraid it is not feasible to repair it by yourself

It needs equipment like osciiloscope, multimeter, functional tester, and circuit diagrams

There maybe several parts damaged not just 1

I suggest you send it back to Cytech

Your system is still working except for the parts that were damaged
You can continue to use it if you do not need to call in and dial out, by bypassing the telephones to the telephone line
Set Ignore Line Cut setting in Comfigurator

I only have one phone line in my house, which is connected to my system. Therefore, I will need my phone to dial in and call out. If you can guide me to do a simple test to confirm whether the "TEL-IN part" is still ok, if not, can I purchase the new part and install by my self? By the way, I am not familiar with Configurator yet.

I can confirm that the TEL IN circuit is damaged
There is no part that you can purchase to replace it. There may be many electronic components damaged by the lightning strike, it is not just a single part that we can identity
The only solution I can suggest to you is to return it for repair
