To see Comfort Server Manager, Go to Options > Settings > UCM Connection> select UCM Interface = Network (Local). Click on Comfort Server Manager The main cause of Comfort Server Manager not being able to see the ETH03 IP address is due to the presence of another network Adaptor in the PC, eg a Virtiual Machne. Comfort Server Manager sends the request on the other network adaptor and does not find the ETH03Go to Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork Connections to see the network adaptors. If the firmware is corrupted and the ETH03 IP address cannot be seen in Comfort Server Manager, reset the ETH03 module to default and DHCP mode
ETH03 LED Indicators D2 STATUS LED (Green) - Steady on to indicate ETH03 application is running correctly. D3 PWR (Red) - Steady on to indicate power to the ETH03 module. RJ45 connector LEDs (Green and Amber) - These are dual-function Ethernet status LEDs. Both LEDs are off when there is no connection. The Green LED should be on when it is connected to the LAN. Amber LED blinks slowly when the connection is idle and flashing fast when there is data transfer. Last edited on Tuesday May 24th, 2022 03:21 am by |

Other causes of ETH03 not seen in CS Manager NOTE THAT COMFORT SERVER MANAGER CAN ONLY WORK ON THE SAME NETWORK AS THE UCM/ETH03, NOT FROM INTERNET If the UCM/ETH03 cannot be seen in Comfort Server Manager after doing a Reset to Default as described in the previous post, it could be due to the router blocking UDP port 30303 which is used for discovery. Try using another Router or connect the UCM/EH03 directly to the PC LAN port as a test Connect the ETH03 ethernet port directly to the computer to verify that the ETH03 IP address can be discovered. A LAN cross cable may be needed, although modern computers may not need cross cables. You can set the computer IP address using a Fixed IP address as there will be no DHCP If the PCs IP address is not in the same subnet as the ETH03 (default IP address 192.168.0.109) then the IP address will appear in RED If the ETH03 can be discovered when it is connected direct to the PC but not when it is connected to the LAN, there may be a problem with the router or the network Try disabling the Firewall on the router and PC Also connect the UCM/ETH03 direct to the router bypassing other switches and Hubs in the network Use PING to the ETH03 IP address Go to Start, type CMD in the text box In the DOS Box type Ping 10.0.0.55 for example If there is a reply that means the ETH03 is working. You can use Comfigurator with the ETH03 Last edited on Tuesday Aug 11th, 2015 04:59 pm by |

Discovery of ETH03 in Comfort Server Manager - Technical Information Comfort Server Manager uses UDP Port 30303 to discover the ETH03 IP address ETH03 will reply to the query also using UDP Port 30303 The screenshot below is from Wireshark, which is a useful free tool for network troubleshooting Set "Promiscuous mode" on Wireshark Apply filter UDP==30303 to the captured packets In line 110, Comfort Server Manager running on the PC (192.168.1.2) sends a broadcast on UDP port 30303 to destination port 30303 In Line 111, the ETH03 replies on UDP port 30303 to destination port 30303 of the querying IP address. Its IP address (source ) is 192.168.1.204 Hence if UDP port 30303 is blocked on the router or switch or PC, there will be no reply from the ETH03 and the discovery will not work Note that Comfort Server Manager will send the discovery broadcast only Once (it may repeat the request if there is no reply). If there is no reply after repeating, it will not broadcast again, unless the Refresh button is pressed on Comfort Server Manager. Try disabling all Firewalls which may be blocking the UDP port If the ETH03 IP address appears and disappears repeatedly, this is due to a network error, which is probabaly caused by a loop in one of the switches or network devices. Note that this condition was actually seen at a site. This problem is not caused the ETH03 or Comfort Server Manager Last edited on Saturday Jan 3rd, 2015 12:13 pm by |

Also the PC may be running a Virtual Machine with a different IP address, and this VM may be sending the CSM discovery messages. see http://www.comfortforums.com/forum113/4161.html Last edited on Wednesday Feb 22nd, 2017 05:03 pm by slychiu |

If the UCM/ETH03 IP address cannot be seen in Comfort Server Manager due to one of the causes above, try connecting the LAN Cable from UCM/ETH03 direct to the PC Lan port. Set a Static IP address for the PC, since there is no DHCP server in this configuration. For instructions for different versions of Windows, see http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/ Once the PC has a static IP address, run CS Manager again. You should be able to see the UCM/ETH03 IP address. If it still cannot be seen, disable any firewalls on the PC temporarily. If the ETH03 IP address can be seen, change the IP address to a valid fixed IP address on the network. At the same time, upgrade the ETH03 firmware if necessary Connect the PC and UCM/ETH03 back to the router or switch as before You can now use the IP address and port that was set by CS Manager to communicate with the UCM/ETH03 |

For those running Windows 10 on Mac using Parallels, and cannot see ETH03 in Comfort Server Manager;Try changing the network mode from Shared to Bridged. This allows the IP addresss to be in the same network as the home network so CS Manager can talk to ETH03. see https://kb.parallels.com/4948 |

Alternately if you still camnot see the ETH0 IP address in Comfort Server Manager, use the router to find the IP address of ETH03 In the router page you should be able to see the IP Addresses or Devices which are connected by LAN to the router. Remove the cable from ETH03, check the IP Addresses, then plug in the cable to ETH03 and check devices again and see if a new IP address has been added |
