Can you explain why you would need to wire the doorbell to a zone input instead of the DM02?

the doorbell response is activated when the doorbell is pressed which allows you to do other things

Its not going to work

Basically The door bell at the moment rings the internal phones. The doorbell response is also seen be Homeseer which activates a message over the Audio system (Somebody is at the door) so far so good.

We then have a vision wireless panic button for my dad as hes not great on his legs., so I use this Zone to again ring the house phones. I Homeseer also reads the Zone activation and sends an announcement that my dad needs help. But then follows up with (Somebody is at the Door) So I am not going to be able to ring the internal phones and have two separate announcements.

why cant the panic button connect to a a Monitor N/O zone type 9 which triggers familycare alarm. This can cause dial out and can also trigger the Homeseer, but will not cause the phones to ring

How about getting the Family Care alarm to call you on your mobile instead?
