Hey all... hopefully this is just because I've forgotten to do something trivial or obvious, but for the life of me, I can't think what I might have forgotten...
I've just started to install a brand new Comfort system in my new home... it's literally just out of the box and part-assembled... I've connected up the main parts... the CP9000 board, a LEM, and a single UCM/ETH03, plugged in the battery, and connected it up to the mains. The board is powered up, and the various LED indicators are seemingly in the correct state...
I have checked the ID of the UCM - it is definitely set to 1, (SW7-1 through 4 are all ON) and is the only UCM connected at present. I have run server manager, found the UCM/ETH03 and successfully applied a firmware update to it to the latest available 2.14. So I'm definitely talking OK to the ETH03 submodule... On the UCM baseboard, the LED's appear to show healthy status... RDY is on permanently, D9 is flashing about once per second, D10 much faster... having obtained the IP addressing details from server manager, I have entered these into the UCM connection properties in comfigurator (latest version 3.9.2.0) in a brand new config file, based on the correct Comfort II ULTRA template...
Unfortunately however, I just cannot get comfigurator to connect to Comfort... any attempt to do anything which requires a connection (like scanning for modules, or retrieving system info) raises the expected sign-in dialog, and I'm entering 1234 as the user code (which I believe is the default)... and it always replies - after a few seconds - "Failed to connect to UCM - please check UCM connection settings"
In the I/O monitor, I can see the repeated "LI****" commands being issued, but there is no reply from the UCM at all...
I've reset the comfort main panel - no change, power cycled the UCM - no change...
I can't think what else I haven't done... have I got a dead UCM??
I thought I should at least be able to get a connection to the UCM to get as far as upgrading to the latest firmware version etc...
help!! :-)

I think it may be due to a firmware compatibility between the UCM firmware and the ETH03 firmware
ETH03 firmware 2.05 and above require UCM firmware 7.048 and above
Please downgrade the ETH03 firmware to 2.01 from
http://www.cytech.biz/download_files.php?item_id=713
This will allow the UCM/ETH03 to communicate with Comfigurator
Then upgrade the UCM to the latest (7.060), and then upgrade the ETH03 again to 2.14
We have just verified this solution
We will post a note about the ucm firmware compatibility problem
apologies for the problem
ALSO NOTE THAT COMFORT SERVER MANAGER CAN ONLY WORK ON THE SAME NETWORK AS THE UCM/ETH03, NOT FROM INTERNET
