In the configurator there is a command to turn backlight on or off or all backlights on or off. I have programmed it to turn the bedroom keypad backlight off on night mode and on with security off. However regardless of the jumper position on the keypad this command has no effect whatsoever.

I have Comfort version 7.066   and KPO4 keypad version 1.019  Does anyone know if this is a problem or am I doing something wrong?

yes unfortunately it works only for KP06
KP04 is not so "programmable"

Correction. The backlight command works for KP04 as well as KP06

I have a KP04 and this is how I turn the backlight On when my PIR detects movement.

Call this KPon response and link it to the PIR.

"Action 156 65 1
Do KPoff After 300 Seconds Using Timer11"

Now create a KPoff response...
"Action 156 65 0"

and voila, if you enter a room the backlight comes on and goes off after 5 mins. 65 is the ID of the KP.
