The IRIO01 (or Intelligent Remote Input/Output Module) is a multi-purpose automation module with 8 inputs and 8 outputs. An IRIO has the flexibility to configured for a variety of automation functions by plugging in a selection of submodules into 2 slots. Up to 15 IRIOs can be installed in a Comfort System. The Manual for IRIO and submodules can be downloaded from http://www.cytech.biz/intelligent_remote_inputoutput_module.html Plrease visit the IRIO website at http://www.cytech.biz/brochure/irio.html IRIO without Submodules IRIO with 2 submodules What does the IRIO do? The IRIO handles the automation functions in Comfort in way that is easier to program and reduces wiring. Instead of programming Responses and actions, Functions are selected, and mapped to Comfort registers like Flags, Counters and Sensors. For example, the Heating or Cooling function works by assigning the setpoint to a Counter and temperature to a Sensor Register. Putting a value into a Counter changes the setpoint, and comparing the temperature in the sensor register allows the IRIO to decide whether to turn on the heating/cooling relay. The function is mapped to a Comfort Flag, so that setting the flag will enable the function and clearing the flag disables it. The temperature can be obtained by the ISM01 or ISM07 with temperature sensor or other means, eg via KNX, Cbus or the TSM01 Temperature Sensor Module For example, the ISM04 TWS subModule for control of lighting two way switches reduces wiring as it is not necessary to connect Inputs and outputs to Comfort. This submodule allows the current threshold t be adjusted so that it is able to handle all different lighting loads including very low current LED lighting down to 1 watt. The ISM05 Blinds submodule controls a Blinds motor without needing a separate Blinds controller. It is able to move the blinds up and down as well as position the blinds anywhere with the help of a built-in current sensor. Submodules Each IRIO can accept two submodules from the list below;
The IRIO baseboard comes with 2 programmable analog outputs (0-10V) for dimming and control which are available without any submodule. Functions Each Submodule supports pre-defined Output and Input functions Output functions include;
Input functions include;
Each submodule can only select the appropriate Output and Input function that is applicable for the hardware. Only the applicable functions for each submodule can be selected by Comfigurator. The UCM/Logic can be used as a Controller for IRIOs where an alarm system is not needed. The UCM/Logic has no alarm functions and has no Inputs or Outputs but has all the logic programming capabilities of Comfort as well as a plug in Ethernet interface (ETH03) or USB interface for programming and access by the Comfort apps http://www.comfortforums.com/forum117/4459.html Last edited on Saturday Aug 21st, 2021 05:41 am by slychiu |

The table below shows the Submodules available, and the Output and Input functions for each submodule |

Any possibility to make it 0- 12V rather than 0- 10V that would leave open to more equipment possibilities The IRIO baseboard comes with 2 programmable analog outputs (0-10V) |

Do you mean the analog Inputs? 0 to 10 V is the most common range for analog voltages. A 12V range would make it less useful for most applications What is the signal that you want to measure or send? |

My mistake for some reason I was thinking about outputs. |

how many outputs and inputs working at the same time ? am i right maximum 4 outputs and 4 inputs ? Last edited on Saturday Oct 24th, 2015 03:02 pm by bagushandhoko |

Each IRIO can have 2 submodules, each submodule has 4 outputs so max 8 outputs on IRIOMax of 15 IRIOs in the system |

how about inputs ? can be 8 inputs combination with 8 output ? the sub module can be a combination type ? ( eg : tws and IR ) ? |

The number of inputs for submodules depends on the type of submoduleThe table in the first post tels the numbers of outputs or inputsThe individual manuals for the submodules gives all he detauils |

Hi Is the IRIO shipping yet? I checked in the UK and don't seem to see it listed for sale from one of the distributors. |

Yes IRIO and mist submodules are available, except for 2 submodules, the TWS for lighting and Blinds You can try to order them frm your distributor, although they may not have it in stock yet |

it is very useful if there was 6A or 10A relays on submodules boards. in this case we can use it directly for active or deactivate electrical loads. |

The ISM06 and ISM07 submodules have 10A rated relays |

ISM06 only. The ISM07 is ELV rated, 1A or less depending on the voltage being switched. |

Is it possible to use these with a comfort 1 main panel ? My panel is still going strong but I want to replace switching of some lighting circuits that is currently done by x10, and this would be cheaper than velbus etc. Also are there any other UK dealers other than lazer, as they don't show any stock. I am afraid the IRIO will not work with Comfort 1. There are too many features missing. I strongly suggest an upgrade. You just need to upgrade the Comfort PCB and others at an upgrade price and buy other new modules IRIO is quite new so it may not be stocked yet at the distributor. You should still be able to order |

Okay, thanks. The time is getting closer to upgrade, I will message you |

The IRIO and most ISM modules are available for sale
Send a message if anyone would like to order and cannot find them |
