I may be going potty in my old age, but I'm sure I remember a way controlling which events are included in the log file. I have searched throughout comfigurator but cannot find it. Am I dreaming?

No the alarm events are always reported. You cannot select them
But there is an action "save event number" that you can add to a response so that a specifc event can be recorded to the event log.
eg Event 0 may mean Output X on
so it is an acvtion to allow you to record any event you needd
