Hi,

I'm having issues with one zone. Every saturday and sunday the zone is triggered at 17h. During the week the system is disarmed at that time.

This specific zone is very large and have many detectors. Can something be happening to draw power from the inputs and make false alarms? I'm thinking in the battery test which is occurs  every 24h.

Can someone explain the procedure of the battery test or provide other possible cause to this?

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
André Neves

Battery test is done on 24 hours. It starts from the last time you do a battery test. To start battery test at different time, do F3,1 on keypad to do battery test. If the alarm occurs at the new time then it may be due to the battery test
Also read event log - it gives the exact times of alarm and zone, and also low battery if occur dueing battery test

HI!

I've read the log (in attachment) and didn't find anything happening at the hour of the alarm (17h00). Before leaving the site i've made a new reset of the UCM at 19h02m. Now I have false alarms at 19h02 in the days the system is armed at that time.

Is it possible to disable the battery test? (is the only thing happening every 24h)

Also, the log is full of messages like the following:
11/24 16:59 SMS Trouble ID # UCM 3
11/24 16:59 SMS Restore ID # UCM 3
I can't find any info on this issue, any insight is welcome.

Thank you for your assistance.

Disable Battery test by setting Battery Test Interval = 0 in the screen below

There is no battery low alarm in your event log. Is the battery new or old

The SMS Trouble shows that the GSM signal is intermittemt. Seeif you can move to a better reception area
You can also disable the SMS Trouble alarm in the screenshot below
Alarm > Nondetector alarms > SMS Trouble, set to Null alarm

Is this the alarm you are referring to?

11/25 15:34 SMS Trouble ID # UCM 3
11/25 15:35 SMS Restore ID # UCM 3
11/25 17:00 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:00 Alarm Type # EntryAlert (10)
11/25 17:00 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:00 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:01 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:01 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:01 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:01 Alarm Type # EntryWarning (21)
11/25 17:01 Alarm Type # Intruder (1)
11/25 17:01 Dial Number # 3
11/25 17:01 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:02 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:02 Zone Activation # P0-ESCRITORIO (2)
11/25 17:03 Dial Number # 3
11/25 17:04 Dial Number # 3
11/25 17:05 Remote Signin - User # Acknowledge
11/25 18:00 SMS Trouble ID # UCM 3

This is caused by Zone 2 which is an Entry door zone type

I would investigate the location and type of the PIR that you are using. Is it facing a window, or susceptible to drafts which may cause false alarms
You get false alarms from this PIR when it is armed, but it will also be triggered when it is not armed although that wouyld not cause an alarm

Hi,

The alarm is always at the same exact time (the reset time) in the weekends (when the system is armed at that time) and in the same zone (zone 2). The precise time rules out drafts or reflections, etc.

Since my visit to the location it changed to the last reset time 19h02.

During business days the area covered by zone 2 is filled with people so I'm not able to investigate the trigger at that time.

I think the problem is that we have too many PIR and too far in that zone and when the battery test starts some fluctuation in the voltage could trigger the alarm.

I will try disabling the the battery test to see if it stops the false alarm. I will disable the SMS trouble too so it doesn't fill up the log.

In the long run, during maintenance we should redesign the zones to take out some of the PIR from that zone or find a way to supply voltage to them.

Thanks for your assistance.

If you have many pirs you might need to double up the batteries.
Chances are the voltage is dropping too much during the test.

I had this voltage drop problem with my original battery. I checked the inputs with a meter during the battery testa nd could see it had dropped below the '1' threshold.
An easy fix.
