I have just ordered one of these http://www.grandstream.com/products/physical-security/video-door-systems/product/gds3710 Wondered if anyone had integrated one yet? I will eb replacing my current door station - shoudl be interesting :-) Cheers Stuart |

It has a couple of inputs and outputs built into it - my thinking is to use this for handling video calls from the gate over SIP. Also reporting to Comfort movement around the gate using one of the ouputs and it sbuilt in movement sensor - or perhaps actually using it to report when someone pressed the bell not quite decided yet. Also allowing Comfort to send the open gate command to it using one of the inputs. |

So I finally got around to setting this up - thought I would share if anyone is interested on how its set up.. If someone presses the call button on the GDS it does two things it initiats a SIP call (video if the phone picking up supports it) and also triggers an output which I have connected to Comfort to report that the gate doorbell has been activiated. Then from Comfort I turn on all the drive lights and because of the connection to smart things have my iphone buzz. I also have one of the inputs on the GDS connectted straight from an output on comfort as when it recievs a 15v or less signal it opens the gate using the relays in the GDS. So this lets COmfort open the gates. I havent yet played with the motion detection or the integration with Blue Iris (which also ties into smart things). Interestingly the system also has RS485 like Comfort but I simply just dont know how that works. Hope this is useful to anyone considering a SIP / VOIP door station to integrate with Comfort. Ooh sounds interesting. Also if blue iris integrates to st, there might be lots of options of using IP cameras to trigger comfort events ? |

yes blue iris integrates with ST very well, I'm starting to play with that and will report back! In a nut shell with the GDS it can handle two streams from the video camera a high res one which blue iris handles and a slightly lower res one (or much lower) for the video calling to a SIP phone or mobile soft client. |
