Yesterday I installed Comfigurator v3.12.8 and used that to update my Comfort firmware to v7.142. I immediately noticed that my Comfort controlled external lights were not functioning nominally. It turned out that ALL of my Comfort flags were set to ON - every single one of them, including all of the unused flags up to Flag254. So my response programming wasn't performed as expected because the expected state did not match reality. After I manually (inside Comfigurator, under Comfort Registers/Flags) enabled Show Status, I was then able to set all of the flags that I use back to OFF. Things once again appeared nominal. Now, I can code around this sort of scenario and reset them at opportune moments, but it's new behaviour that I've not seen before with firmware updates that I've applied. Any thoughts? Did I do something wrong during the firmware update process and do I need to revise my procedures perhaps? Last edited on Saturday Oct 20th, 2018 12:49 pm by Stub |

This new firmware saves the previous states of the Flags, so that even after power off, the flag states are maintained. (A Reset already keeps the old states) However the 1st time that you use the firmware the saved states are all On because the EEPROM blank states are alll 1 or on. This will not be a problem after the 1st time. All your flags states wil be saved |

Thanks, slychiu, I understand. I've lightly tweaked my response programming to be better at clearing flags anyway. Handy to know about though. |
