Can I ask for some help please? - I thought I would try using partitions. I have set up a new SEM, dedicated for a takeaway, which is part of my main office. I looked at all the info on the forum and it seems you can mix the old KPO4 , which will remain as and behave as partition 0.I have installed a new KPO4A in the takeaway and called it partition 1 and assigned door switches and smoke/heat detectors to partition, 1 Leaving all the 4 office KPO4’s in circuit. Now, as soon as I upload the configuration and Comfort resets itself at the end, the system goes into Night Mode. If I change all the zones back to partition 0 the problem of auto Night Mode goes. So,with only user names and the one KPO4A assigned to partition 1 there is not a problem.CAN you mix new KPO4A’s and old KPO4’s on the system, or should I be looking at other things which are causing it to  reset straight into Night Mode, when I change the takeaway zones to partition 1?

You can mix KP04 and KP04A BUT not if you are partitioning !

Also the partitioning on the Comfort side works OK.
The app and reporting are not there yet, (unless you want to do some clunky work arounds) and I don't see it on Cytech's radar as yet !

The doc should state old KP04 cannot be used with partitions.if you can point out where it says otherwise let us know, as it may be an old doc

I think the POINT here is
If you are NOT making use of partitions then the KP04 can be 'mixed' with the KP04A on the same set up.
If you are wanting to use partitions the ALL keypads HAVE to be KP04A

I have just extended a system for a client and bought what I thought were KP05A after spending a day messing around with comfigurator, have come to conclusion that these kepads are not KPO5A or even KP04A as the system will not work in partition mode,
Must mention you can mix other keypads with a partitioned system ie KT03, you just have to check what can and cannot be used.
It looks like the solution for my issue is that the keypads are going back to Laser and correct ones supplied via re-stocking fees and postage as these were bought a while back and the boxes discarded I cannot verify what the keypads are!
Is there a way to identify the exact model ie via serial nos?

The type of each keypad can be seen in Comfigurator
Go to Modules and do Scan for Modules

In the Partitions post at http://www.comfortforums.com/view_topic.php?id=4491&forum_id=125&jump_to=20659#p20659

Minimum System Requirements
  • Comfort Firmware 7.116 or above
  • Keypad KP04A or KP06A firmware 7.005 or above. KT03 firmware 7.082 or above. KP04/KP05/KP06 will not work with partitions.
  • Comfigurator 3.12.x for programming

Do confirm if the keypads are useable in Partitions. There should not be any more stock of old KP04, KP04, KP03 etc im Laser or anywhere else. KT03 can be used with partitions
Note that the keypads may need to be upgraded to the latest firmware
