Hi Slychiu,
I had posted last week re a problem with updating UCM Eth02 and Comfort firmware - the post has disappeared, presumably due to your move to new host and register.
My issue was I had only UCM/Eth02 and UCM/GSM, and was therefore unable to update the UCM Eth02 module firmware using the programming cable. I had asked you if there was a procedure to upgrade direct from laptop, but you advised me to get an Eth03 submodule to allow upgrading from Comfigurator.
I have purchased an Eth03 sub module as advised, and was about to install it when I noticed the following in sub-forum 113/3695: "If you are upgrading from USB or ETH02 to ETH03 by plugging in the ETH03 Module, please upgrade the UCM firmware to minimum 7.048 before changing to the ETH03 submodule".
I obviously cannot upgrade the UCM firmware, so what can I do now? It looks like I cannot just change the sub-module and upgrade the firmware from there. Is there a work-around?
Thanks,Paul

Sorry, I did not know (or remember) this. what UCM firmware do you have? Can you try to upgrade anyway? If it does not please send the UCM and ETH03 to Laser, they can do the upgrade for you

Hi Slychiu,
I sent the UCM module to Laser, Aaron and Trevor upgraded the firmware. When I got it back, I installed the UCM with the new Eth03 sub-module. At first all went well:- The UCM was recognized, and I was able to use Comfort Service Manager to assign a fixed IP,- I was able to Scan for modules, and Comfigurator correctly identified the two UCM's (Eth03 and GSM)- I was able to Transfer system Information- I was able to upgrade Comfort firmware and Slave Firmware- I initiated upgrade of Keypad firmware
At this point, I ran into trouble; pop up window advised the keypad firmware upgrade was complete and asked if I wanted to refresh. As before I selected yes, but I then got a message "Failed to Connect to UCM - Please check UCM Connection Settings". On the Keypad, it said "communications Failure". On UCM, LED's D9 and D10 are not flashing, D2,D3,D4 are off, D1 LED is on Steady. On the Eth03 sub-module, PWR LED and Status LED are on steady.
PLs note UCM/Eth03 ID is set at 1 and I have no other UCM with this setting. I pressed F0 on the Keypad before each firmware upgrade.
I tried pressing reset button on Eth03 and UCM but no change to above.
Keypad screen is now blank (backlit, but no text) and 'off' indicator light is illuminated. It was previously working fine, showing date and responding when Comfort was powered on etc.
Would appreciate your advice on next steps ...
Thanks,Paul
