I have a CPU9000 system with 4 SEMs/LEMs. Three SEM01-M2 boards have been damaged by a surge on the bus but only one LEM01-M2 appears to be damaged. The power supply board of all the SEMs appear to be OK.
Is the SEM01-M2 still available? If not, will the LEM02-M2 work with the SEM01C? Or do I have to replace the SEMs and LEMs and also install the OP03 boards to get the maximum of 16 inputs and 16 outputs for each SEM/LEM pair?

Sorry to hear about the lightning damage. SEM01-M2 is no longer produced.

SEM01C does not have EOL shunts to determine if EOL resistors should be connected to the zone. The EOL setting is programmed in Comfigurator 3.11.14 and above (No EOL, or Double EOL) The older SEM01-M2 has EOL shunts for each zone. If an older LEM with shunts is connected to SEM01C then the LEM zones will only have the option "Use Shunts". The EOL shunts in the LEM-M2 wil determine the EOL status.
Hence you can use LEM01-M2 with SEM01C (but not the other way around). For each zone on the LEM01-M2, select "Use shunts"

To avoid damage by lightning strike in future, I would suggest getting a UCM/4G GSM Module, and disconnect the Telephone line. The telephone line is the main cause of lightning damage, although there are protective circuits to help avoid lightning damage.
However be warned that door and window contacts is also a path for lightning surges into the system, but less likel;y than the telephone line

Thanks for the response. Must have missed that info while checking the forums. My original post mistakenly referred to LEM02-M2 - should have been LEM01-M2 (not LEM02-M2) but the same applies.
I do have a lot of surge protection and there is no telephone line connected. The surge was caused by an electrician - not sure what he did - possibly mixed the neutrals. Had 2 network switches and a PC network card pop - my guess is that one of the switches may have shorted out mains to network and that got through to the UCM/ETH (which is not damaged!) and then onto the RS485 bus. (Not an electrical expert so not sure if this is possible but have no other explanation.)
Have had Comfort almost running my life since around 2004 so am feeling rather lost at the moment! Overall I'm very impressed that more of the Comfort boards didn't die - CPU9000, 1 x SEM, 4 x SEM power supply boards, 8 x RIO, 1 x IRIO, 6 x keypads, 1 x DM02, 1 x GSM all appear to be OK.
I read somewhere that there is an ISO485 bus isolator but can find no details - is this available?

Yes there is an isolated RS485 module. I think it is ISO485. You can order it. But you will need a seperate power supply for it. If you use the same power supply for the 12V then it will not be isolated
