Is there a simple way to determine the PCB version in a comfort install.

When was Comfort 2 introduced and how to determine if a PCB is Comfort 1 or 2?

Thanks

Comfort 1 is a single board PCB. CM8000
Comfort 2 consist of 2 PCB joined at the centre by aboard to board connector.
There are 2 versions of Comfort 2 - CM9000 and CM9001.
CM9000 uses a heavy transformer while CM9001 uses a small Switching power supply which is better and more efficient

CM9001 is shown here

Thanks Slychiu

The board is indeed a CM9000, image attached

Right now the Comfigurator version being used is 2.1.0

It would be good to bring this system up to date. Here's the plan

-Replace the USM/RS232 with a new UCM6/ETH03. Primarily the concern there is that an old laptop with a USB to RS232 cable is being used and the laptop is running windows XP. The laptop integrity itself is a risk given its age so best to run Comfigurator on a modern Windows laptop over Wifi (through ETH03)

-Update Comfort firmware to latest (7.20?)

-Update UCM/CBUS to latest firmware

-The system also has a RIO but not sure if that requires any kind of firmware update?

-Update Comfigurator to latest version. The current version is 2.1.0 and using a CCL file and I believe this predates the CCLX files with later Comfigurator updates.

What challenges am I likely to face with above plan?

I think the Comfigurator update may be the biggest challenge from memory of having done an update years ago - but any advice, pointers, things to watch out for appreciated

Thanks

The UCM/ETH03 is the first step. Once you have that you can upgrade the CM9000 firmware

The RIO cannot be upgraded you can continue to use it. the UCM/Cbus can be upgraded to a certian level if it is very old

You van convert the ccl file to cclx for Comfigurator but you will have to check all the programming as there may be incompatibilities. This may be the most time consuming.

You can have Ciomfigurator 3 and 2 on the same PC. Download the new Comfigurator so you can see how it works
