I have an input connected to a ISM07 submodule that I have configured as RIO Input and have setup on/off responses (SCS/RIO).
I have a need to use this input as an alarm input, and I cannot physically wire this, so I thought of using one of the alarm inputs as a virtual input.
What would be the ideal way of doing this?- Change the input from RIO Input to Virtual Input on the ISM07? Would I still need to flag the alarm input as virtual?
- Add actions (Virtual Input on and off) to the existing responses and set the flag of the alarm input as virtual?
Setup:- Comfort Model: CM9001-ULT
- Comfort Version 8.005
- ScsRio (IRIO) Version 7.024

yes make the IRIO input a virtual input mapped to an unused zone on comfort. The comfort input would automatically becine a virtual input and you can use its on and off responses

I have done that, thanks.
I have set this input as an Entry Path, but it triggers the alarm immediately.

I suspect it's because it's working as a N/O switch instead of a N/C switch. Setting the Zone Type to either Digital N/O or Digital N/C makes no difference.
This is a tricky one as you can't seem to change the behavior for Active/Inactive states unless you have a Door switch that is N/O by default - which I don't think is a good idea.
The other problem is that on reset it doesn't update the virtual zone state to what the iRIO has detected which is undesirable. (testing with iRIO with 7.027).

N/O or N/C does not make any difference for Zone Trouble. Zone Trouble is caused by wiring problems or mismatch between Zone shunts settings and EOL resistors eg if you have the zone shunts set to to EOL and you have EOL resistors on the zone or vice versa.
Your event log shows that you have zone trouble on zones 14 to 16 ie the LEM connected to Comfort. You say that this is LEM01B without any shunts. To test these zones, remove all the wires from zones 14 to 16, then use a short wire to short and open the zones and check if this causes zone trouble. If zone trouble occurs without any wires then it is due to a fault in the LEM01B. If there is no zone trouble then it is a fault in the wiring
The LEM on Slave 2 is an old LEM01-M2 without shunts so it cannot be used with SEM01C without EOL shunts

The challenge is that these zones do not always report Zone Trouble. I have to figure out what conditions do.

If you have used the short/open method of testing the zones, and they do not report zone trouble, then tou can eliminate the LEM01 as the cause of the problem

When I test each LEM with short/open they do not report zone trouble.

However at times when input 95 or 96 detects motion at the same time that the inputs on the LEM are shorted, then zone trouble is announced.

If you have the latest firmware and Comfigurator, you can trigger virtual inputs on and off using I! in Comfigurator. eg I!6001 Input 96 On, I!6000 Input 96 Off I!5F01 Input 95 On
I!5F00 Input 95 Off
You can test this with Zones 14 to 16 in on and off state. i could not find any instnace of zone trouble

Investigation 1
can you change the viruial inputs from 95 and 96 to another unused zone eg zone 65 and 66. does the zone trouble change
Zone trouble is still happening.
09/20 13:58 Alarm Type # ZoneTrouble (5)
09/20 13:58 Zone Trouble # XXXXXXX_PIR (16) |
Investigation 2
If you have the latest firmware and Comfigurator, you can trigger virtual inputs on and off using I! in Comfigurator. eg I!6001 Input 96 On, I!6000 Input 96 Off I!5F01 Input 95 On I!5F00 Input 95 Off
I tested this and once the virtual Input is active, then I get Zone trouble when the PIRs are triggered. But, it only reports the zone trouble once for each active cycle, no matter how long I keep the virtual input active for.

We found a bug in handling of LEM zones, but not sure if it is to do with your particulr problem. Can you upgrade to ULTA 8.008 using this link http://www.cytech.biz/download_files.php?item_id=1415
However from your cclx file your 1st ucm is 7.150. Please upgrade to the latest version otherwise you will not be able to do the upgrade to the Ultra comfort firmware
Let me know if you still have the zone trouble problem

I tried upgrading the first UCM to 7.225, downloaded the local file, started the upgrade.
After completing the upgrade the version on Comfigurator is still showing 7.150.
Below is Comfort Version screenshot.

Your screenshot shows you are upgrading the UCM firmware to 7.225, but you also have to upgrade the Controller to 8.008 next. In short there are 2 upgrade operations, UCM, then Controller

The UCM did not upgrade, the upgrade process went through, but it still shows version 7.150.

sorry I misunderstood your previous email, You completed the UCM upgrade to 7,225 without error but the version is still 7.150?
Did you right click on the UCM and select Check for Firmware upgrades as in the image below?
If the upgrade completes without errors, then you have top scan for modules again to show the updated firmware version

That option is not available
Yes, I scanned for module after Comfigurator showed that the firmware was upgraded.
