Hi,
This is my first post and I am new to Comfort / C-Bus etc... currently installing my first system and apologise in advance if some of these questions have been previously posted....
I have just installed my Companion 8 touchscreen and Comfort system, interfacing the two using the Audio UCM/Audio and Griffin iMic. I wanted to know if it was possible with this setup or with the VOIP capabilities to use the companion to intercom with comfort keypads and/or announce the comfort voice menu... i.e. enable it to be used with almost all the features of a Comfort Keypad?
I have also added the sunset/sunrise time headings to the home page of the companion and was hoping that it would be possible for it to get these times from the ones I have now set in Comfort. Is this possible or likely to become so?
Thirdly does anyone have any experience in setting up the Companion to control an Audiotron? I have been able to add it as a component in the audio control settings screen but that is as far as I have got.
Finally has anyone got basic UK weather, news, traffic info etc onto the Companion without having to use the browser?
All help and advice with the above would be very much greatly received.
Thanks,
Austin
P.S. Any customized companion configurations from people with a similar setup to mine (below) would be very helpful.
Companion 8
Comfort G2
C-Bus
Smartfit
Opus Octopus Audio
Audio Authority HD Video

The Companion currently does not support audio. We have been asking the manufacturer to add the audio support (using USB to audio) for a very long time, but it has not been done yet
There is another solution, using UCM/Audio. Connect a mic and spealer to the UCM/Audio and mount the mic and speaker in a convenient and unobtrusive location
There is no VoIP solution as far as I know, unless you can find a device which can convert audio both ways to Voip
I dont have information aboiout your ither questions, hopefully someone else can help

Hi,
I have cameras, weather etc setup via Monitor function.
email me at jcratchley@hotmail.com and I'll give you a URL to use TightVNC and see what I have. Then we can chat about how to do this.
Regards
