I have just received my brand new UCM05, and the instructions tell me to connect to J15. Unfortunately this doesn\'t exist on my board!

Do I need to connect to KA, KB, 12v and Gnd as the older UCM was? (i.e. cut off the mainboard connector and use the bared wires)
Comfort I has a similar 4 way connector, not called J15 (cannot remember what it is) except if it is a really old version
Anyway you dont need to cut any wires. The UCM has terminal blocks for 12V COM, KA, KB you can connect to Comfort terminals

Are you saying it is better to use the separate connector blocks on the UCM (JP4 & JP3) going directly to their equivalents on the old manboard, rather than using JP2 or JP2A?
Electrically it is the same
The JP2 connection with the 4 core cable is more for convenience, (but not if you dont have the connector on the main board).  Using the terminal blocks gives a more secure connection as it is screw tightened
