Comfort Automation/ Security System Forums

I recently saw a demonstration where an 8Gb Apple iTouch that had been very stylishly wall mounted (so screen was flush with the wall) was being used as a home control interface device (using the iTouch web browser) controlling a solution that looked like it was integrating a number of system (alarm, lighting, heating) via a set of web pages.

In my opinion the current user interface options for Comfort are either cheap looking grey plastic items or hideously expensive touch screens. What is needed is realisticly priced touch screen solution and I think that this is possible using the iTouch becasue it sold at a mass market price.
 
Has anyone ever tried a solution of this sort using Comfort + Comfort Webserver or Ethernet Interface?

Does anyone know how the iPod touch connects to other devices like Comfort?

Just need a front end for it to talk to Comfort direct (via a UCM). Surely something Cytech can whip up easily enough.

Wizcomfort can work with a UCM/Audio connected to external soeakers and microphone to act like a keypad

WizComfort isnt any good as a front end app.

Perhaps you can publish your KT0x front end s/ware to a windows app ? Even as a chargeable item, it would fly out of the door.

Superna is a good user interface which runs on any XP based system. Others should be announced soon.
KT01 user interface is not easily transferable to Windows

Is Superna something you will release templates for ? Im making assumptions there - never heard of it before.

We will in due course, we are still testing the software. Its looking quite good so far

I\'m interested in the ipod touch solution. This unit has built in wireless G so in theory could log into the Comfort CWM. The screen is quite small though so there is issues viewing webpages that have small text etc.

 

The other way to do this would be to write a specific app which would probably be a slicker version of wizcomfort in the first instance.

Ipods and Win CE devices may not be able to log into CWM as you require Java. Not sure about ipod by Windows mobile devices dont support Java thanks to Microsoft
