In the siren(jp9) ,why we put a 1K-ohm pull up resistor?

NOTE:

This question in Comfort 2 Installation Manual .

The pullup resistor is recommended to be connected as some sirens make a low sound when not activated due to a low voltage supplied to the siren
It may not always be needed but it will not do any harm
