Full Version: Tik tik sound on keypads during intercom mode

I recently had problems, where the keypads were very soft during intercom mode (when you talk across the keypads).  I am not sure what happened, but the comfort installation had been working for 2 years before.  I managed to solve this problem by rewiring all of the keypads at the main comfort panel.
However, while the volume is back to normal, i am now having a very strange tik tik tik sound across the keypads.  This is only during intercom mode, the rest of the time the keypad voice is fine.

I have a comfort 1 system in the house, with 8 keypads and 1 doorstation and 1 slave.
  • I have checked all the wiring to the best of my knowlege
  • I have taken off the extra keypad (no. 8), that was added a little while ago
  • Taken off each keypad individually to test if any one of them was causing the problem.
  • Played with the VR1 and VR2 pots
  • Played with the tuning parameters
I cant seem to find the problem, any help would really be appreciated.
Thanx in advance.

Included is my ccl file.
It is unlikely to be due to settings. We need more info.
Does this happen with
- Keypad to keypad intercom?
- phone to Keypad intercom
- Phone to door station Intercom

There is no phone in the system.
It happens between two keypads.  I have not heard it happening between the keypads and the doorstation, but i don\'t know if i was listening properly at the door station.
Is this a Comfort I system?

How loud is this tik tik sound?

Sometimes you hear some sounds like clicking sounds if your wiring keypads is not using CAT5  or if incorrectly termnated eg one of the wires is loose

If the sound is not too loud perhaps it is still acceptable

The tik tik sound is loud enough to annoy the client.
This is indeed a comfort 1 system.
I am using cat5 cable (green and light green for mic and voice)
Since my last post, i have rechecked the wiring at the panel and keypads, still cant find anything wrong.Sad
