Full Version: How to know maximum & calculate the load

I’m talking about if let’s I have on my Comfort system full with 3 slave cards which power by it own tranformer.

 

I just worried & want to understand the maximum load on the Comfort (RS485 - KA/KB, 12V/GND) can support? How to calculate the load on it if there’s a number of part connects to it? (Example parts is such as motion detector, smoke detector, glass breaker detector, SCS, UCM, RIO, touch screen and etc.)

 

My question is there a information telling how to separate this parts into the slave (SEM) group by share same power on it? Is that this is not a concern as 4 supply from the system can support overall parts to the system? or am i require additional 12V supplementary supplier if too many parts?

 

As you know the system is build for able to upgrade in the future. So for sure more to more parts will be connect.

Each Slave has its own battery backed up power supply which is able to supply 1 Amp to its devices. You should not connect everything to the main Comfort panel, but instead distribute the current among the slaves.
For each PIR, smoke detector etc, its specificatiosn should tell the current supply needed Add them up to find out the total current
The keypads, UCMs, Slave etc each require only 50 mA and Coimfort is 130 mA,
