Comfort Automation/ Security System Forums

Hi,

I would like to know the best way to control Homeeasy RF devices (sold by B&Q) by Comfort. 

Is there a way that comfort can learn RF signals and transmit them much like you can with the RIO for IR?  That would probably be the most efficient way.

Alternatively, there is an RF transmitter by RFXCOM that can be controlled by Homeseer which can be controlled by Comfort via UCM Ethernet using the Homeseer Comfort plug in.  But that would require a PC.  And it seems a very round about way to me.

I was considering CBUS wireless, but if above can work, the cost of a cheap PC would still work out to be much less than CBUS wireless switches.  Homeeasy is also cheaper than X10.

HomeEasy (and the other RF based units) would appear to be a better solution that X10 , which is very prone to line issues, and ZWave has a serious flaw in it\'s protocol.

As you say, the units are cheap too and plentiful. Consumers are more likely to enter into the automation market with the HomeEasy type devices than any other.

A UCM with selectable baud rate 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200 baud is available for those who would to try this interface

With 2 stop bits ? If so, is this a firmware update ?

Interesting - so your new firmware will handle this extra \'pause\' ?

Would Cytech be willing to test this directly first ? A USB + RS232 board from RFXCOM would be 116 Euros

If anyone has these boards and a need for them then we can supply  the firmware for testng
The rfx com boards are not sufficient for us to test as we need the Homeeasy kit etc

I can supply you with a homeeasy module - they are only US$5 each !

I will let you know when we are able to test that as we have a lot of projects on our plate at thge moment

Did we get anywhere with this ? Will the modified firmware and/or the new U-UCM be able to control 4800bd, 8 bits data, no parity, 2 stop bits ?
