Hi

Upgraded my Live UCM and Comfort to the latest firmware at the weekend.

One strange thing I noticed this time when I flashed the Comfort MPU was as soon as I powered on the system with the programming cable connected (ready to start the flash procedure), all the telephones in the house started constantly ringing.  In the end I had to disconnect Tel In and Out cables whilst I flashed the MPU.

What I dont know is whether this is a Comfort issue or in my switch from BT to Virgin Media (50 MB broadband and phone- yippee! Smile) that I did back at the start of the year and since the last firmware upgrade.    The Telephones didn\'t ring when I flashed the UCM.

When not in programming mode then everything is OK.

Any ideas on what could be causing?

Julian

Yes, this does happen when you have an MPU being upgraded (but not a Comfort with Flash CPU onboard) . During upgrade the processor is held in Reset mode and the control of the connected devices are in a certain state. You should disconnect the phones and outputs while doing this.
The strange thing is though that it\'s not done this prior to my last firmware upgrade.
I doubt it has anything to do with the firmware being upgraded, as the processor is being reset during this time. Perhaps the phone was not connected
It depends on the sequence of connection

The phone may also be silent during the firmware upgrade to MPU if you connect the programming cable with the power still on (not recommended)

The phone will ring if you first turn off the power to Comfort, connect the programming cable to MPU and then switch on the power.
