The functions are:

1. Security Keypad emulation - arm and disarm your security system.
2. Zone Status Display - see the state (open, closed, bypassed, or tamper) of your windows, doors and Motion sensors (including KNX sensors)
3. Home Control - Control lights and appliances including  KNX and other systemss and see their real time status (on, off or level).
   
4. View up to 4 IP cameras
5. Trouble Conditions display

The app has been designed to be simple to set up and use with no programming required. The system requirements are:

1. Comfort Controller CP9000, with firmware 7 or higher
   
2. UCM/Ethernet module firmware 7 or higher, which is connected to the local network. 
   
3. Wifi is required, via a router or wireless Access point for the iPhone connection.

No computer or server is needed.

To configure the UCM/Ethernet, the DS Manager toolkit is required. Please download from https://www.cytech.biz/ds_manager.html

The Comfort iPhone app was developed on behalf of Cytech Technology by Calistra Research Labs

Minimum firmware

1. UCM/Ethernet firmware  version 7 or above
2. Comfort firrmware version 7 or above

Please note that this is considered a new app and not an update of the very 1st version 1.3.  After installing the new version 1.4, please delete the old version 1.3 from your mobile device.


Setting Up your iPhone/iPad
You must ensure that your iPhone is connected to the correct WiFi network ie the same as your Comfort  UCM/Ethernet. If you connect to the wrong network you will not only fail to connect but will experience temporary lack of response from the App while it tries to connect to a system that is not there.

By connecting your Comfort system to a WiFi network you are potentially opening up a security vulnerability. Ensure that your Wifi network uses the highest level of  security which is appropriate. Accessing Comfort from the Internet exposes the system to addtional vulnerabilities.

The initial screen is shown




Press the KEY Icon to select the Comfort  system that you wish to use. This brings
you to the Comfort Systems selection  page.




By default there will be 2 configurations shown, Home and Ooffice, to show that you can connect to more than 1 Comfort System.

To Delete a configuration swipe to the left on the selected system. To Add a new  Comfort system, press the + sign on the top.

To edit the connection proerties tap the right arrow key next to the selected system.

1. Enter the Name of the system eg \"My Home\", \"Office\"
   
2. In Internet, enter the IP address and Port of the UCM/Ethernet on the Internet, if the system has a fixed or known IP address, and port forwarding has been set up, eg 201.203.110.117. Enter the Port assigned to the UCM/Ethener in the PORT field. If the system is not to be accessed by Internet, leave thee fields blank.
3. In version 1.43, a Host Name using a dynamic IP Address service can be entered, eg abcd.dyndns.org. Many routers are able to work with Dynamic DNS services like dyndns.org
   
4. In LAN, enter the local IP address and Port of the UCM/Ethernet on the local network, eg 10.0.0.10 Port 10003  This should be set up using the DS Manager Tool for the UCM/Ethernet which can be downloaded from https://www.cytech.biz/ds_manager.html
5. Select USE LAN if you are connecting via the local LAN, and \"USE INTERNET\" if you are connecting to Comfort via the Internet.
6. The bottom part of the screen allows 4 IP cameras to be viewed through the App.
   
7. For each camera tab, enter the Name, eg \"Store\", the LAN IP address and Port, and Internet IP Address and Port. The format of the IP address should be http://203.110.119.40:8080  The http:// prefix should always be included.
8. A hostname for Dynamic IP Address can also be entered instead of an IP address.
   
9. Usually the IP camera will have  username and password protection. The user name and password can be part of the address in the format http://username:password@203.110.119.40:8080 or http://username:password@abcd.dyndns.org:8080
10. Tap DONE when finished to return to the Comfort Systems Selection page.

Highlight the Comfort system to be accessed and tap DONE to get to the login page



Note
[color=\"#0000ff\"]The UCM/Ethernet can only accept 1 connection at  a time. If another iphone or software eg Comfigurator is already connected, you will not be able to access, but the connection status can be seen ob the login page.

If the IP address and port of the UCM/Ethernet have been entered correctly, and no one else is currently accessing it, the \"connected\" status is shown. The numbers \"2\" on the left are a numeric indication of the connection status. You may see a \"connecting\" status if the app is still trying to make a connection. If this persists it means that the connection is busy. 

Other connection status messages include \"Data Error\" which means there may be a problem with the connection or the UCM/Ethernet and \"Disconnected\" if the connection has been ended.
if the connection status is \"connected\" then you can login with a valid user code. If the conection status is not \"connected\" then do not bother to try to login because you will not be able to connect.

If the login code is correct the Comfort keypad will appear, as shown below;



Armed Status
The Quick arm keys Away, Night, and Day will be highlighted to show the actual armed state. In the screenshot above, the Away key blinks in reverse, showing the security system is armed to Away Mode.

LED Icons
The 4 LED icons at the bottom show the same information as an actual Comfort keypad. the green OFF LED is steady when the system is disarmed, and blinks when there is a Trouble condition. The red ARM LED is steady when the system is armed and flashes when there is an alarm condition. The AC red led is steady when there is a power failure and flashes when there is a low battery condition. The MSG led is steady when a message has been recorded locally and flashes when a message has been recorded remotely from the phone.

Tabs
There are 4 tabs along the bottom; Keypad, Zones, Home Control and Trouble, and Cameras, Alarms and Info in the More .. tab

Only the Keypad Page and Alarms Page have useful information at the moment because your iPhone does not know the Comfort configuration of Zones and Home Control.

The next section describe how to load the parameters from your cclx file into your phone so that the Zones and Home Control pages can be populated

Getting the Comfort  cclx parameters to your phone
The Comfort App has been designed to be easy to setup. It uses the cclx file which was created using Comfigurator so there is no further programming needed.
The  app needs a specially formatted file which it accesses by email. You need to convert your Comfort configuration file (CCLX) to this custom format by uploading the cclx file to our conversion website. You will need an email account that you access from your iPhone.
Using your computer (NOT your phone), follow this link to convert your cclx:  https://www.cytech.biz/crl_test.php
This prompts you for the location of the cclx file corresponding to the Comfort system to be controlled.



When the email is received on the iPhone, tap the attachment in the email.

The attachment will have the same name as the cclx file but with an extension .crlccip
Tap on  \"Open In Comfort\"  The app will ask you to select which configuration to open eg \"Office\", \"Home\"

YOU MUST USE THE iOS EMAIL APP ON YOUR DEVICE, DO NOT USE  WEBMAIL LIKE GMAIL.COM TO READ THE EMAIL


The screenshot below shows  a typical keypad page for a system that is not armed.
Note the connection status \"connected\" can be seen.


The Zones tab will show the state of the Zones in Comfort including security zones and feedback Inputs. Off means zone closed and ON means zone open while a Trouble State means the zone is in Trouble or Tamper state indicating that the zone wiring  may be broken, shorted or misconnnected. Bypassed zones will also be indicated.

The next section will show how to Arm and Disarm the security system

Arming the Security System

You can arm the security system Locally or Remotely by selecting the radio button for \"LAN\" or \"Internet\" on the set up page. the app assumes that you are in the house if LAN is selected and away from the house if \"Internet\" is selected.

Tap on the icons on the keypad page for Away, Night, or Day to arm to the selected Security mode.

For Remote Login, an additional login is required for security purposes.  This is not necessary for Local arming.





When a system is being armed any zones that are open will be shown on the keypad.


Close the windows and doors which are open. Alternatively, you can press the # key to force-arm the system ie automatically bypass open zones to arm the system. Note that the Force arm feature may not be enabled on your Comfort system depending on local regulations.

The Exit Countdown Time is shown on the keypad, telling you how much time you have to leave the house for local away arming.



Arming to Night mode will also start a short countdown timer.

Away Mode Arming
When arming to Away Mode (all occupants are AWAY from the home), the system is armed only when the front door is used to exit the property, ie it has to be opened and closed, or just closed if it is already open. When the front door is closed, the Exit Timer is terminated and the system is armed after a few seconds.

When the system is armed to AWAY mode remotely ie via the Internet, there is no need to exit the house. The system is armed to away mode immediately, without any exit delay, if all zones are closed or force-armed.

When a system is force-armed the automatically bypassed zones are shown in the Zones Tab.



Bypassed zones are automatically unbypassed when the system is disarmmed.

Disarming the Comfort System

To disarm the system when it is armed, just enter a valid  user code on the keypad.

The Green OFF led will turn on. All bypased zones are automatically unbypased

Entering the user code on the Keypad  when the system is not armed will have no effect.

Entry Timer
When the system is armed, and the Front door is opened, there will be an Entry Countdown Timer which counts down every second to show how much time is left to disarm the security system.

Home Control

In the Home Control Page, you will see the Control Groups as defined in the cclx file, eg




The Home Control items can only be seen when the cclx file has been uploaded to https://www.cytech.biz/crl_test.php as explained in the 2nd post in this series.
The Control Menu is organised as (appplies to Comfort II Ultra only)

Control Groups 0 to 5 (6 groups)
Each Control Group as up to 10 Control Keys (appliances or rooms)
Each Control Key has up to 10 actions or commands
A typical arrangement is as shown below

Control Group 0 - Lights
     - Control Key 0 - Living Room
           - action 0 = Off
           - action 1 = On
           - action 2 = dim etc

     - Control Key 1 - Dining Room
           - action 0 = Off
           - action 1 = On
           - action 2 = dim etc

Control Group 1 - Aircons
     - Control Key 0 - Living Room Aircon
           - action 0 = Off
           - action 1 = On
           - action 2 = Low
           - action 2 = High etc


Control Group 2 - Entertainment
     - Control Key 0 - Hifi
           - action 0 = Off
           - action 1 = On
           - action 2 = Mute


     - Control Key 0 - Movie
           - action 0 = Off
           - action 1 = On


Tap the Group to see the next level under the group


The control keys  in the Lights Group are shown, with the status of each light, on or off, up/down etc as defined in the Home Control Menu.

To change the state of the lights,  touch the icon. This leads to the next page which shows the actions possible



The actions here are on and off, but other actions are possible like Up, Down, Open, Close, Dim etc as defined in the Home Control Menu in Comfigurator

To do the action, press the blue circle to the right of  On and OFF, not the text itself. You have to be accurate to get this right - this is something that needs to be improved in the next version.

Press Lights on the top to go back to the previous page
You will see the status of the light change accordingly. This may take up to 5 seconds

Troubles Page
The Trouble page shows the  active Trouble conditions on Comfort.
\"Clear\"  means the condition is normal for the specified item
In the screenshot below there is a Zone trouble for the SAFE zone.




Alarm State

If there is an Alarm condition eg Intruder, Panic, Fire, Arm Fail, it will be shown on the keypad page as well, with an  audible alarm sound.

The screenshot below shows an Arm Fail alarm, ie Comfort failed to arm perhaps because the user did not exit within the allowed time in Away Mode



 

The sccreenshot below shows a Communications Failure alarm for one of the modules on the Comfort RS485 Bus

 

Connection Issues and Security

The UCM/Ethernet can only accept one connection at any time. This is for security reasons, as there are security risks associated with multiple users accessing Comfort at the same time.

If the connection is busy, eg a user is accessing Comfort with an iPhone, a second user will not be able to connect.

The connection status is always visible on the keypad page, as shown below;



Other connection states which may be seen are

• Connecting.. This means the app is trying to connect. Normally it should only take a few seconds to connect. If it remains as \"connecting..\" it could mean that connection is busy or the IP address is incorrect. If the IP address is correct, try again later
• Data Error - This means that there may be a problem with the UCM/Ethernet mode. Check the status of UCM/Ethernet using DS Manager which can be downloaded from https://www.cytech.biz/ds_manager.html
• Disconnected - Connection has been lost. The app automatically disconnects if another application is active or the Comfort app goes into the background. You will need to login again. The Comfort app will automaticallly log out from Comfort when it disconnects.
  

The login can only work if the status is connected or disconnected (if the comfort app has gone into the background)


If there is a loss of wifi on the iPhone or iPad, there wil be a notification on the app that there was a disconnection. You will have to login again to reconnect.

If you have logged in to Comfort, and then go to another app or let the phone go to sleep, it will log out of Comfort and terminate the connection.
This is for security purposes so that anyone who picks up your phone will not be able to control your system. When you go back to the Comfort App, you will see the status as disconnected, and will have to log in again with the user code. You will not have to select the Comfort system as the last system selected wil be remembered and shown on the keypad page.

Viewing of  Cameras
Up to 4 IP cameras can be accessed with the Comfort app

The IP addresses are entered on the Setup screen (Press the Connection icon on the keypad page)



Remember to prefix the IP addresses with http://
The Internet IP address is for remote viewing and the LAN IP address is for local viewing ie on the LAN
The IP address must include a port in the format
http://IPaddress:port

Any IP camera, video server or DVR with a server which supports browser access can be used.

After the camera IP address or addresses have been entered, go to the Cameras page in More Tab
