I\'m about to run my alarm cable around the property (whitch is under renovation)

I\'ve been looking into differnt types of sensors etc...

Is there a certain type of sensor I should use?
I\'ve been reading about open and cloesd, and sensors that would need resistors added to the wiring!

I need to find out and decide what kind of sensors before I take the wires to theeir destination!

I know it\'s a very basic subject for some of you, but I need to get my basics right!!

Thanks guys!
You can tell comfort whether you deploy normally open or closed and whether you use resistors to detect tampering or not, just make sure you get the right wiring in place!!
I think I know what kind of sensors and detectors I need and where!
Can you recommend a supplier or makes/models?

Please excuse my little knowledge,!
There are many supplliers of alarm sensors and accessories, like PIRs, Magnetic door/window contacts, smoke sensors etc for example http://www.hunters-wholesalers.co.uk/bur...422d4c20d0

All alarm sensors have an open/close reed relay contact which can be connected to Comfort Inputs.
Some sensors require 12V power eg PIRs, smoke and heat sensors. The 12V supply should be taken from Comfort 12V/COM

Hence for a non-powered sensor eg door/window contacts, 2 wires and enough while for powered sensors you need 4 wires

Standard alarm cable comes in 2 pair, 3 pair or 4 pair. It is recommended to use 4 pairs so as to have spare cables as the cost difference is not a lot
Great guys, thank you very much!
Can\'t wait to start building my system!

No doubt I\'ll have some more simple questions!!
