This appears to be the same problem as just reported in

Your UCM is the same as Pgordons ie ETH01 is plugged on top of an old UCM05
The J2 shunt must be connected to the \"RS485\"side. It could have fallen off while you were \"tidying up\" I would bet 10 Euros on that!

Nope thats not it, I checked and the shunt is under the eth daughter board, which i never removed, but checked it anyway, and it is in the 485 position!

i just hooked up a spare ucm/usb and was able to connect!!
Old shunts may be loose and fail to make contact
Use another shunt for elsewhere and see if it fits well onthe header
Also try reseating the eth01 module to the ucm
just reseated eth module and swapped all shunts, reapplied power, and reset all cum modules, still no working ucm/eth
might try and swap the ucm boards of my eth and usb ucm\'s and see if the problem moves
Thats interesting!! Seems to be sorted, but I didnt get round to swapping the boards! The only thing I did was swap addresses on the ucm/usb and ucm/eth round, which failed, and then i swapped them back again and everything worked!
Going to do a bit more testing, a few resets etc and see if its stable.
Update, tried a fair few of the methods I had gone through again, but to no avail!! I suspect maybe the board might be a bit iffy, so swapped the ucm/usb motherboard for the ucm/eth motherboard and it seems to be working again now. Will keep an eye on it and see if it happens again, if not, it looks like maybe my board needs some checking!
