Firstly let me say that I have not bought the alarm system yet so I cannot \'try\' anything.  I am exploring its functionality to see if it does all/most of what I want.

I want to set up an RFID reader next to a keypad so that it can be used as the means to arm/disarm the system.  If I have read everything correctly this would be possible by connecting the output from the reader to an universal ucm with the software/programming on the Comfort system waiting for a response form the reader.  In addition, if it is possible I would like to capture the RFID tag number and log it and possibly use it as part of an sms message to my phone.  I realise that this requires a GSM ucm as well.

At this stage I have not purchased the RFID equipment and I am hoping it will be a case of just connecting an rs232 cable and setting up the software/programming side.

So, to ask the question.. can this be done.

Thanks.  Smile
You are correct, if the RFID reader has a RS232 or Rs485 or ethernet interface and can send the information then you can connect to the Unibversal UCM with the appropriate interface. If you find a suitable RFID device please share the information  so that others can take advantage
slychiu. Many thanks for your reply. I would be happy to provide details once I have got that far. As I said I have yet to purchase the system but that day is getting even closer. Just got to get my head round a few more things I want to do with it then my wallet gets opened.

Again many thanks.
