This is a preview of some new products being considered
The new Door station and Indoor unit with monitor
The new Smart Switch series to replace the SCS
Another view of the external door station
The door station with monitor.
- when is it likely to be available?
- options on surround plates?
- can we feed external video into system?
- will it use DPo2 _i.e. be a separate standalone door phone
Aesthetics
video screen + keypad OK - depends upon the surround options.
Door phone - nope cannot say i really like it - how are you going to flush mount it - why not have a flat face plate that can be replaced with ANY finish e.g. glass, brass, aluminium, SSteel etc.
Option for a KT03 (or better yet a colour version) in the keypad slot of the new indoor unit would be good.
I second the requirement for standard composite video input(s) to the monitor so we can use existing CCTV feeds.
Multiple composite in selectable by response would be ideal.
Composite video input will be there
If there are more sources an external relay can be used to switch the video in
KT03 LCD will not display the video so it is not an option there
Metal options can be done separately for the external door station
A hood is a necessity, to ensure a certain degree of wwaterproofing
I wasn\'t suggesting KT03 for the video, just a choice of touch screen module or conventional keypad in the right hand slot.
The versatility of the touch screen is too useful to lose in favour of the integrated video.
Can you tell us a bit more about the smart switch and it\'s functuonality?
Physically also, would it be an easy replacement for an scs?
Thanks
Eamon
The new switch modules would be easier to program and be more intelligent than the SCS. There would be built-in functions that you can call up for each button , eg dim up/dim down, on/off, toggle, momentary and the status of the leds could be selected, instead ofg having to program each led as an output More wil be revealed later
The size of the switches is based on 55 x 55 so it should not be difficult to replace the SCS. Even the frames could be reused

Unfortunately that would be too difficult to fit in the components in the right.
You could still mount the KT03 next to it though
Any indication of time scales on this - 2013 obviously but 1st 1/4 ? or later?
