Hi - not sure where to post this topic

I want to switch 3 x 400w halogen lights for the garden

I notice the TW202 manual has been updated

Can the TWS02 cope with 3 x 400w?

I calculate the amps to be 5.2 A at 230v, and the manual says max 6A load, but the manual says switching power to be 480w

I really dont want to use up inputs / outputs by having to wire the lights separately

so, can I have 3 on one circuit or will I have to have separate?

The spec is 6 A resistive load for each relay
Halogen lights are inductive and can cause an inrush during switching that can damage the relays so it is best to use 3 separate relays for this

Also you need snubbers or spark quencher  for inductive load switching - this is a component which has 2 wires which should be connected across the load. We will send some to Laser with the next shipment

When you say \"connect across the load\" do you mean at teh light fixture or at the TWS02 230v connections?

I ask because I have 20 TWS02\'s to install, controlling 40 lighting circuits.  Some of the lighting circuits have 50w halogen downlights, ie kitchen, bathroom etc)

So if connected at the TWS02 I will need about 20, if connected at the light fixture end, I will needa bout 60!

You would need to connect each between the Load and Neutral or alternatively across each relay contact (which will need 2  devices per relay from Normally Open to Common and Normally Closed to Common)

Since you need so many  it is best to buy from a stockist  like Farnell
