Would this not mean that there would be the same problem with vera?

Logic dictates that the fibaro uint is the issue, but I don\'t want to keep buying extra modules to find they don\'t work.

I have emailed the supplier so we can wait to see what they come back with.

Thanks

Lee
Hi,

Which version you should I using?

I purchsed the fibaro module on the 22/1/14 and the company who provided it says that it is the latest firmware version v2.1.

I will check when I get home.

Cheers

Lee
Hi Lee
Can you clarify the statement below?

Quote:During this process above the 2 fibaro 2 x 1.5w module I have working stopped and detected as basic nodes again, however, as soon as I switched both sets of lights on and reinstalled (learned) they detected as multichannel switches in comfort and worked ok again

The module must have Power applied during the Learn process in order to discover them as multichannel.  The lights need not be switched on

After this step, it seems that you have got the module learned as mutllichannnel

So why did you need to repeat 1 to 3 again?

As Julian  says, you should not move the modules from the installed location.

If there is any problem just do a Learn again in UCM/Zwave, without steps 1 to 3

Let us know exactly what happens when you do a learn with Fibaro powered on

By the way the Fibaro website states there are 3 versions of the 2 x 1.5KW switch with different instructions

Version 1.4 to 1.7
Version 1.9 to 1.10
Version 2.1 to 2.3

Hi Ident

I have 3 fibaro 2 x 1.5kw relays, 2 are working fine since you kindly replaced the z-wave daughter board, but the new one I purchased on the 22[suP]nd[/suP] of January 2014 (version 2.1 – 2.3) will not include as a multichannel node.

No matter what I do and the number of times I repeat the process it is only seen in comfort as basic node, although Vera (main controller) sees both switch.

I have checked with the supplier of the new Fibaro module (vesternet) and he claimes it would have been the latest firmware. I took a look at the module last night to see if I could establish the firmware version as I am told it is on the label but could not see anything.

I have sent a picture of the label to vesternet tech guy who is very helpful to see if he can identify for sure that it is the latest firmware version.

Best Regards

Lee
What was the firmware of the 2 units that do work?

Could it be that the 3rd switch could not be reached by Comfort Zwave or it was switched off?

You said that you were able to get it detected as Multichannel when you switch on both lights on it? Is that still true?
Good point I will take a look at the other 2 switches tonight to see what firmware they are.

I have moved the none working switch to within 1/2 a meter of the comfort z-wave aerial and powered the unit on and it detected as a basic node.

When I refer to the lights being on this relates to the first 2 modules, during one of the learns in to comfort they reverted back to basic nodes, but this is when the power was off to this particular light circuit. As soon as I put power back on and did a learn they detected and multichannel.

The suppler has confirmed that the firmware of the switch I am trying to get working is v2.1.

Cheers

Lee
The other 2 modules are hard to read bacause of damage to the labels, but I think they are version 2.1 as well so that rules that issue out.
I suspect that there is a problem with the 3rd module, if the other 2 have no problem

Can the vera control the 2nd channel on all 3 fibaro 2 x 1.5kw relays?
Yes vera can control both channels on all 3 fibaro modules.
Hi
From my testing I was convinced it was a stability issue in the LEARN process and so I\'m a bit confused here as why the switches themselves are the source of investigation.
Surely the LEARN process is wholly between the primary remote (Vera in this case) and the UCM/ZWave module and the switches don\'t come into it here?
I\'m using 1.9 and 2.1 firmware versions in my network OK.
I added my switches over a few months as and I remember the frustration of having a completely working setup,  then I\'d do another learn to add the new switch and it would revert previous multi-channel units back to Basic mode in comfigurator. I\'d then keep doing the LEARN until they all appeared OK again.   The times I cursed myself thinking I\'d configured things wrong only to find a LEARN again would fix it.
I don\'t know how complex the LEARN code is but IMHO the robustness of that process should be something maybe that is looked at by Cytech. Maybe you cant create the \"Home\" conditions in your dev labs?
