I\'m upgrading my comfort 1 to a 2 shortly and at the same time think it maybe time to replace my 10 year old X10 modules.
I currently use soft touch X10 light switches and appliance modules around the house.
What is now the most cost effective route to go that the comfort ii will control please?
regards
Dave.
As dimming is a problem now with LED.
I would suggest relays with Comfort
plus contactors where heavy current is needed.

The closest replacement for X10 may be Zwave but more complicated to setup and may have problems with certain manufacturers, see the Zwave forum
Other alternatives are Velbus, Cbus, KNX

Thanks for the advise. Looks like i will give zwave a go.
Can I use this on my comfort 1 till I install my upgrade?
Is there a simple guide to programming Zwave that you can recommend?
Also Juwi_uk what wave device do you use with Led as I have quite a few LED Gu10\'s in my house that I can\'t currently control with an X10 light switch.
Many thanks
Dave
I am using Fibraro dimmers with bypass module (needed for LEDs if load <25w) fitted. My LEDs are various, some dim some dont. My dimming ones are Philips LedSpot mv gu10 in a couple of variations; some ie kitchen are recessed and others retrofit to existing ceiling fittings.

Yes, velbus is an excellent solution if you dont need wireless, very stable and easy to configure
